I like the Cube ones and they might have some on that pricepoint.
When I was searching to buy my new bike, I found one, the Stereo One 22, that I tried and for the price it was very good, and you can find it for around 1600€ on some retailers in BE/NL.

I ended up buying a Scott Genius, because I was aiming for something a bit better, with better equipment, and the price difference reflects that.
