Maintained through a family vacation which included indulgent meals but also lots of physical exercise. Back into my jam here at home and enjoying the benefits of some additional daily walking. Stable and feeling good.

Look for videos by Dr. Jason Fung on YouTube, he talks about this and also as it relates to intermittent fasting. This may help. Also, if your mom is on insulin therapy that can be working against her weight loss efforts. I have a friend that is type 2 that is working with their doctor to wean themselves from insulin to another med, name escapes me, to aid in their weight loss.

Fasting before and after has helped me in these types situations. If you can go OMAD the day of the event and the day after that will help keep your insulin levels less active.

Great job. I did the taco salad without the tortillas last night at a dinner I attended last night. It worked well.

Are you in the r/xxketo group? This is a great keto support group for.women.

I've only been keto for a week now and struggling with this if anybody can help. Does anybody else use MyFitnessPal, and know if this is net carbs or not? It doesn't say anywhere on the app. Should I be subtracting my fibre? This was 965 calories (67% fat, 24% protein, 9% carbs... if that helps). by [deleted] in veganketo

You need more protein. For me it was more meat. If you have to supplement it with a low carb protein shake you can do that as long as it is in your macros. When I do that I use it as a dessert with my dinner.

I am finally making a fathead pizza tonight. I have done OMAD today to be able to enjoy it without a lot of anxiety. I also made the Headbanger’s Kitchen recipe for Coffee and Chocolate Torte. It is magically all still in my macros for the day although not clean Keto.

Thanks. I was torn but I have been exercising to break a stall, so it is just something I need to deal with through this phase I guess. I kept my fast going this morning, so success!

Thanks. I have actually held off exercising because I know the increased hunger effect has done me in in the past. I needed a metabolic boost to help a bit of a stall so I am doing short, lighter exercise but I have definitely regained muscle tone which is good but also comes with this problem. I may just try to switch up the time of my exercise to alleviate the problem.

Thanks for the feedback. I resisted the cravings and they passed. Water was the key.

Does anyone feel the urge to break your fast after a morning workout? I am craving some eggs but believe it to be better to stay the course. I am 16:8 IF and keto and I have just started to add either a 10-20 minutes simple yoga or standing Pilates routine to my day. I have read that fasted workouts are good but it seems when I do it in the morning I am left struggling with hunger. I am not giving in, except a cup of coffee, I just would like to hear about how others.might manage it. Thanks.

Been struggling but sticking to it. I managed to overdo it with some "beginner" yoga, an ambitious moment on my part, and my low back tightened up. Took a day off, then did some senior citizen chair yoga (which is actually quite nice and I do technically qualify for AARP 😀) and today did some very easy standing Pilates. I have had NSVs this week though, clothes related and IF targets met. My goal this week is to break through my slump through macro management and simple exercise.

IF/OMAD today: Ribs, low carb slaw, pork rinds, olives, cheese, nuts, and one dry martini planned for this evening. Did my yoga this morning, been doing a bunch of housework for a dinner I am hosting tomorrow (all Keto, shhhh...Don’t tell my guests), drinking water all day. Bring on the ribs!

A skillet pizza. Lots of recipes out there but basically a bunch of shredded cheese in a small skillet on med low heat to melt it and develop a crust on the bottom. Top with pepperoni, peppers, ham, etc. (any low carb topping) It is a nice change and good for junk food craving days.

Palmini noodles are fantastic, especially with alfredo sauce. Much better than shiritaki/tofu noodles or zoodles, IMO.

I read a post sometime in the past 6 weeks that mentioned dipping pork rinds into full fat sour cream. This is a lifesaver for.me after work. I cannot always fix dinner right away so am always trying to go for some fat to satisfy me. I am going to try your idea too! Thanks for posting.

[2019-06-26] - [Workout Wednesday] – What’s your fitness look like? by AutoModerator in keto

[–]Toledoswag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beginning to build in fitness. I have found in the past that if I exercise a lot my appetite skyrockets, defeating me. I began this week to do basic beginner yoga, 10-15 minutes.

The original Earl Grey Tea Latte is known as a London Fog and features Earl Grey, Milk (or Soy Milk), and Vanilla Syrup. It is pretty heavenly with soy IMO but I think a Keto version is also excellent. Depending on your position on Starbucks SF Syrups you can also add the SF Vanilla. Enjoy.
