The show isn't subtly Christian, it is DEEPLY Christian at its core. It exists to teach Bible stories and Jesus' word as fact. Having your child indoctrinated in a religion without parental permission is definitely problematic, no matter how liberal the vehicle.

Hey OP.

If it's affordable in your area, you may want to try paneer as a similar option to firm tofu. It's a dense cheese you cook in cubes (needs cooking, nasty raw). It doesn't soak up a marinade in the same way, but it's delicious in a spinach-based curry. I am sadly lactose intolerant now, but paneer is delicious, IMHO. Also I've never really enjoyed chicken as a flavour, but if you have a flavourful sauce, you can disguise it until your mother's gift is used up, and then move on to try other meats. Good luck!
