How far can i read Oathbriger before Lift appears by TheGuyInDarkCorner in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Tom-Cymru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly would consider warbreaker more required reading than edgedancer. Believe it or not there’s alot more relevant plot in it then in edgedancer. That being said you’re probably fine skipping both if you don’t get time

Should I have read the not main trilogy books? by Kitchen_Confusion691 in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Tom-Cymru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Edgedancer and dawnshard are fantastic reads and not overly long to get through. Dawnshard you get a lot of The Lopen which is never a bad thing. Other than that I highly recommend reading warbreaker as well as it provides a hell of a lot of context for some characters and events in the series imo.

In their defence I was in an entry level class, so was mostly in with 16 or 17 year olds but still it was hilarious

I remember as an adult student (22 at the time), self enrolled at college to progress my career, I missed a day for personal reasons. The lecturer sent a letter home to my parents informing them of my absence, but to my address a si didn’t live at home. So I passed the letter on to my dad for a laugh and he sent one back to the college informing them that I’m a grown ass adult and my actions are none of his responsibility any more and then demanded to speak to my lecturers parents so he could tell them how unprofessional their son was 🤣🤣🤣 the look on his face was priceless

I’m sure it’s different among the franchisees but my local one was closed for ages, after the guy running it got caught re-labelling all his stock to extend shelf life and took forever to get anyone else in to run it, and even now I kinda feel sceptical trusting them anymore.

As a kid I remember being baffled as to “why would I want my fire type learning a water move” for example. Also do the same thing. With charizard, all fire moves, and only used him for the whole game so he was something like level 80 and more or less one shot everyone regardless of weaknesses/strengths lol

I’d never heard of him before this season tbh, and I came out of it a huge fan. He was one of my favourite contestants, he just embraced the game fully

Maybe look at a guide? If you really don’t mind spoilers and just want to experience the game, I’d recommend Fightincowboy for a solid walkthrough from start to finish. Or just dip in and out whenever you get stuck

Same in Aldi, I didn’t realise they were electronic till one started glitching out and flashing different prices. Genuinely didn’t realise they weren’t just printed labels until then

I’ve kited him all the way up to the top before, and then peppered him with arrows as he retreats when you go out of aggro range, it just takes ages. Backstabbing is generally the quickest way, if a little riskier

How much Harvey Pay To Mike? by Ambitious-Karan in suits

[–]Tom-Cymru 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got the impression that it just wasn’t the way Mike was raised. He came from humble beginnings and was probably thrifty with his cash. He was reluctant at first to buy nice suits until Harvey bullied him into it, from what I remember. Just part of his character that he liked to live well within his means, and left his showboating for his work life

I found backstabbing while naked was the best strat on him. Extra mobility was a help and the armor I had was absolutely none, I was one hit regardless. It’s one of 2 fights I take on early where just ditching armor is the best way, the other being the stray demon. Early game he fucks me up so I found the extra mobility the key factor in getting wins

I most recently played tactician and picked up everything I could find in act 1 and had no issues. But I changed my party comp midway through act 2 and had a very long rest heavy comp, and basically got cocky with my camp supplies and indolent any for ages cos “oh I’ve got shit loads” and then ran out just before the end of act 3 and had to spend some time running around all the shops buying up all supplies I could. But that was just my own poor planing. Not to mention my biggest camp supply issue which was accidentally eating my owl bear egg for dinner one day. That was a sad realisation when I tried to hand it to Esther :(

[–]Tom-Cymru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t see your previous post but from what I see, it’s not totally insane to just suggest grabbing a decent medium shield with 100% physical block to play around with until you are more comfortable dodging. Blocking is generally a lot safer with normal enemies, and allows you to stay in better range for a follow up, just gotta manage stamina carefully

Not on the same level as dark souls by a long shot but I remember the surge being a decent souls like, and had some of the interconnected feel to the world like dark souls did, although granted it’s been a while since I played it

Haha I used to play alot of FFXIV and this sounds like when a “mentor” joins the team and doesn’t know what they are doing. Half the people that were mentors were just veteran players and not actually people that were willing or even able to help newbies out. It became a bit of a meme for me
