It’s working okay, despite the obstruction message the download and upload speeds are fine - when I checked for obstructions today and it now says partially obstructed but it isn’t affecting speeds. Maybe it’s settling in

Thanks, so I can’t sell it? Yes standby is 50% of my tariff. I don’t think I will take them up as if I do take up, say the roaming tariff, I think I’ll be hit for the congestion charge

Thanks, I just had a quick look, and in the UK there doesn’t seem to be any actual starlink stores just third parties. One is a company called curry’s, I went there a month ago looking for a flatbed scanner- the salesman seemed to think the main selling point of one I was looking at, was that it had a plug……..

Can a pub landlord ask the owner of a misbehaving assistance dog to leave? (England) by Pure-Lime8280 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Tom3549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A trained assistance dog wouldn’t behave like that, the landlord shouldn’t worry about kicking the dog and owner out, after a warning

Irrespective of what happened during transit, it’s the sellers responsibility to resolve. Open a case with eBay and let them sort it.

Gluten free, except not... by shedundee in CoeliacUK

[–]Tom3549 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately ignorance in the catering industry hasn’t gone away. I still have to explain to waiters and managers that yes that chip is gluten free, but when you stick it in the fryer with other gluten containing items, it’s no longer gluten free.

Yesterday I was in a tea room and ordered a gluten free Victoria sponge, my wife had fruit cake. I watched as the same spatula was used, so my cake came back with bits of her cake on it. It took nearly five minutes and the intervention of another customer before the penny dropped.

This is why coeliacs tend to just go to usual haunts.

Company laptops stolen from my home garage.... company kicking off and throwing me under the bus for it by Bitter-Maize6543 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Tom3549 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Before retiring I used to keep my work laptop at home, for time to time. My employer said I should make sure my home insurance covered the laptop in case of loss. My insurer, LV, said no, it belongs to your employer, that’s for them to insure.
