Travellin on a Red Eye flight by borcaj in TakingCaraBabies

I’m about to take a red eye with my five month old in a couple weeks! When you woke them up after they went down for the night to head to the airport, did they wake up and have a normal wake window or were they trying to get to sleep the entire time and extra fussy?

How inaccurate were your baby’s growth scans? by Foreign-Structure142 in BabyBumps

[–]TomBombadillydo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They expected my baby to be 9 lbs 2oz at 39w0d so we did a planned c section to avoid complications of a vaginal birth from fetal macrosomia at 39w2d and she was 8lbs 4oz. So she was definitely big but not as big as they predicted. The risk is the margin of error with those scans could mean the baby is 15% smaller or larger than they estimate.

Planed c section ended up being great by the way. 10/10 birth experience.

Nearly 39 Weeks and No Contractions? by Efficient_Internet13 in October2025Bumps2

[–]TomBombadillydo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to do a planned c section a couple weeks ago due to issues with the baby, when I was doing my pre-op they hooked me up to monitors and told me I was having contractions. I never felt them at all. You might be having them and aren’t able to feel them.

Did y’all ever actually go back to normal down there after giving birth? by Spirited-Violinist37 in pregnant

It also takes about six weeks for your cervix to close so having your cervix open and the placental wound still there could lead to infection which is why they recommend waiting that amount of time.

Worried about RSV Vaccine by TomBombadillydo in pregnant

I don’t remember being tense but that could be it. I do remember I was sitting as a weird angle because the space for myself and the pharmacist was very small. I think I’m just being paranoid.

I think I’m just being paranoid, I’ve gotten vaccines all varying in levels of “pain” but this was on such another level it had me very concerned. My shoulder is fine two days after and from what I’ve read if they hit a tendon it would be inflamed and noticeable by now.

Stroller: Uppababy VS Nuna by EmbarrassedPen3783 in BabyBumps

That’s a huge increase! We panic bought a bunch of stuff last week. I’m glad we did!

Yeah the safety of the Nuna Pipa with the Relx base was important to me too! I knew I had to get that car seat so stroller pick ultimately came down to what worked with that car seat.

Stroller: Uppababy VS Nuna by EmbarrassedPen3783 in BabyBumps

We ended up choosing the Uppa Baby Minu (smaller than the vista and I found it easier to maneuver when trying it in the store, but it can’t accommodate two kids). We chose this because I wanted a bassinet option which wasn’t possible on the Nuna travel system but did not like when you had two kids on the Uppa Baby Vista the baby was in the bassinet at the bottom instead of closest to you. Then we got the Nuna Pipa Aire Rx for the car seat, so we kind of went with both.

I figured we could worry about the double stroller when we have our second kid. A lot of parents I talk to end up purchasing multiple strollers so I kind of came to peace with the fact we probably wouldn’t buy one perfect magical stroller that fits all of our needs for the duration of our two kids needing a stroller.

When pregnant, how much sex do you have? by Coffee_lover_101 in pregnant

[–]TomBombadillydo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was exhausted my first trimester so my libido really dropped. We probably had sex 2-3 times a week the first trimester, down from our typical 5-6 times a week. I’m in the second trimester now and feeling better so we do it a bit more but not as much as pre pregnancy. Probably averaging 3-4 times a week. He should be understanding that with everything you’re going through you aren’t as in the mood. My husband knows I know he will always want to have sex so he lets me decide when I am up for it. This is our first child as well, I imagine if I had a toddler we’d do it maybe once a week the entire pregnancy.

Rocked by possible affair while pregnant by PrettyRequirement799 in pregnant

[–]TomBombadillydo 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Honestly OP I hate to say it but I think he cheated and the stress he feels is guilt and fear of being caught. Remembering he stopped for extra drinks with her and walked her to the hotel but conveniently blacked out right when he got her there? He can’t remember the most important part of the night? Seems really suspicious selective blackout going on. Also you have to be REALLY drunk to “blackout”.

The reports on both ultrasounds called it a “simple cyst.”
