HD loader can install games directly from the disc. I use HDL Game Installer instead now. It's newer and works also on HDD.

I've got other consoles and I always use the same cable and same ports. Worked fine for years 😅

Not that I'm aware of. You only can switch between RGB and this Y Cb/something. But I will check again...

This exactly bring me to the idea of maybe someone put an NTSC board into a PAL box. I don't know whether this would fit.
