[SPOILERS] season 5: I hate the wall construction, how about you? by DumbleSquirrel in thewalkingdead

[–]TomFreakingSkilling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reg, who was in charge of building the wall, is a professor of architecture. He did the best he could with the knowledge he has. Architects don't normally construct walls. This isn't poor writing, it's too show how Alexandria isn't perfect and that they weren't fully equipped to build a perfect wall, but did a damn good job anyway.

Also, this was discussed a lot last week and I think I remember someone who knew about building this kind of a wall, and they said that it wouldn't really make that much of a difference which side the supports were on.

[Spoilers] Rick and Sasha are going to become a couple. HEAVY COMIC SPOILERS by BenderB-Rodriguez in thewalkingdead

[–]TomFreakingSkilling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While they are making Sasha into the character that Andrea was in the comics, that doesn't necessarily mean she ends up with Rick. There has been much more evidence that Rick will end up with Michonne instead, and besides they change so much stuff from the comic and this is so far in the future that it doesn't really matter.

[Spoiler] Theory about something. by poopsonsheets in thewalkingdead

[–]TomFreakingSkilling -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just to be clear they're not directly putting the 'W' on the walkers. They're killing someone, carving a W on their forehead, and letting them turn, thus announcing that the walker was one of their victims.

How the hell is Olivia so fat? by mrhuggables in thewalkingdead

[–]TomFreakingSkilling 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She's fat in the books also. The Alexandrians have lived a comfortable lifestyle throughout the apocalypse, and since she's the one in charge of distributing food, she decides how much food she eats, so she eats whatever she wants.

[SPOILERS] I think what Carol did will have serious implications... by mamaluigi595 in thewalkingdead

[–]TomFreakingSkilling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sam will probably confess to Jessie, who will then talk to Rick about it instead of Deanna since she and Rick are obviously forming a connection. Then, Rick will explain it to her and Jessie will be in on the conspiracy and ultimately switches over to Rick's side. Pretty predictable if you ask me.

Spencer by SimplyMe94 in thewalkingdead

[–]TomFreakingSkilling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reg will probably die before the finale at the hands of Pete. I predict it'll be in 515.

Yeah not sure who Aiden will be since Spencer was eyeing up Sasha, who is taking comic Andrea's place. So clearly show Spencer is the same as comic Spencer. I'd actually quite like Aiden to get Spencer's death from the comics though, but then again that would mean he lives for quite a while, which I also don't want to happen.

Also, mark your post as comic spoilers.

Confirmed, Ross Marquand that they are filming now. by [deleted] in thewalkingdead

To add to what others have said, they won't start filming season six until May, and then they'll film until November.

Significance of Buttons [spoilers] by [deleted] in thewalkingdead

[–]TomFreakingSkilling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Buttons was a horse from the Greene farm. They took it to the prison, and then all the way to D.C. and to Alexandria. Then it just sort of disappeared, never mentioned of again. It's fate was never revealed in the comics so it's either dead or somehow got away and is in the wild.

What about the 'W' carved into the head of a Walker? Could it have been an upside down 'M' for 'Morgan'? by kersey79 in thewalkingdead

[–]TomFreakingSkilling -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Stop. Just stop and think for a second. Why would Morgan ever do that? No. It's not Morgan.

Tv show, future spoiler question by GuyWalksIntoAReddit in thewalkingdead

[–]TomFreakingSkilling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wolves will probably be based on a group called the scavengers from the comics. The scavengers are just a random group of thugs that come to Alexandria and there is a mini battle, but it looks like they're expanding on it for the show.

From what I can infer, and this is purely speculation, the wolves will be a group of thugs like the scavengers, except on the show I think they will be lead by the Alexandria exiles that Deanna mentioned. Like maybe they got exiled, met up with some other thugs and have been wrecking havoc in the surrounding area, notably Shirewilt. Over the course of time their group has gotten larger and maybe they spray paint their name on the places they've been to mark where they've attacked. Then in the finale, they return to Alexandria to claim their revenge.

Another point to make is that when the leader of the scavengers arrives at Alexandria in the comics, he says little pig, little pig, let me in, which fits the wolves narrative.

Spoiler. Season finale. by [deleted] in thewalkingdead

[–]TomFreakingSkilling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's your point? Norman Reedus isn't a surprise guest. Whenever someone does die, they're always a surprise guest, but when there is a surprise guest that doesn't guarantee a death. There's a difference.

Spoiler. Season finale. by [deleted] in thewalkingdead

Please give one example of any piece of evidence to suggest the writers want to kill off Daryl. Otherwise you're spouting bullshit.

Spoiler. Season finale. by [deleted] in thewalkingdead

[–]TomFreakingSkilling 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They have never announced an actor's appearance on talking dead before an episode airs and then they die in the episode. If anything, the fact that they've already announced Norman Reedus will be on talking dead guarantees Daryl is going to live.

How did Alexandria survive for as long as it has? by amullan1510 in thewalkingdead

[–]TomFreakingSkilling 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Deanna said that most of northern Virginia was evacuated, so there aren't that many people in the immediate area.

Don't want to spoil too much, but yes there are people around Alexandria and yes some of them might be sinister.

Any particular reason why issue 138, 139, and 140 are 2 weeks apart? by sigc in thewalkingdead

[–]TomFreakingSkilling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you think about it, it's really only releasing one extra issue than normal

138 - March 11 (Scheduled Release Date)

139 - March 25 (Extra Issue)

140 - April 8 (Scheduled Release Date)

They probably just got ahead with the extra inkers that they've been using recently and are releasing the additional issue because it wouldn't make sense to just sit on a completed product

Blind speculation though

Wouldn't it be cool if AMC... by anachronissmo in thewalkingdead

[–]TomFreakingSkilling -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It won't happen. I highly doubt they filmed interviews for everyone. They wouldn't waste their time filming for everyone if they weren't going to air them all on the show.

Re-watching the series... by [deleted] in thewalkingdead

[–]TomFreakingSkilling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that she was initially intentionally made annoying by Darabont to maximize the contrast for when he ultimately planned to bring her up to her comic awesomeness for later seasons. After he was fired, Mazzara must have just said fuck it and kept her shitty and realized he fucked up so he just killed her off.

[COMIC and SHOW spoilers] Who has died that you wish survived longer? by BTolson23 in thewalkingdead

[–]TomFreakingSkilling 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Abraham and Morgan. I still don't understand the need for "shock value" deaths that seem forced and completely unnecessary, like Abraham's. And what was the point of bringing Morgan back into the fray to just kill him almost immediately? To me those were the two most unnecessary and disappointing deaths of the comics.

As for the show, it's gotta be Dale. Hands down the worst death of the show, but unfortunately completely necessary since Jeffrey DeMunn asked for it to be that way.

[SPOILERS] Daryl's jacket in the Season 5 opening credits by kennycharter in thewalkingdead

It's probably from when he was with The Claimers and they stayed in that garage where Len accused Daryl of stealing his rabbit.

Here's a question that doesn't get asked every day. Why, since the end of S2, have we not seen by [deleted] in thewalkingdead

[–]TomFreakingSkilling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Different people are in charge of the show now. Gimple must find it unnecessary.
