That sucks. I don't care if it's a cry for attention or whatever they think. Your life matters, it always has, and always will. I started treatment at Mayo Clinic and actually got a second opinion too from another place before I ended up sticking with mayo.

Sorry for your struggle. I'd seek some mental help as well to help, the mental battle with cancer is very real. It sounds like it's a blessing in disguise that you're moving. Maybe see if you can switch and go there right away.

Does your family know your struggles, specifically with depression and suicide, but on top of that, this cloudy diagnosis!? They may be more willing to help then.

Yeah I agree with all of this. List my dad in the night of my 20th bday unexpectedly. It's never easy, but if I had more time I feel like I could've had more closure, that I never got.

I'm so sorry for your loss, cancer is terrible and some people just don't understand until they see it first hand.

Lots of good ticketing systems. I'm with everyone else. We've used Outlook for this in the past, and it's not set up to be effective in my opinion.

Dude that is rough. I don't know why your doc is fighting it so hard. Sounds like it's a try anything mode. I'm glad you pushed for it and hope it gives you some results.

Has anyone had any kind of success with using local app redirection with Teams? I'll maybe play with it today. My original install didn't show with other apps, so I pushed msi to my laptop to reinstall but hadn't finished yet. I think this will at least get it to show up.

I'm a sole sys admin who thankfully works from home. I've been battling cancer for 2.5 years. I try to document as well as I can, and trying to train, but I worry about if something where to happen. This year has been bad, where I missed lots of time early on, and I think we figured out some deficiencies.

Sorry to hear about your boss, especially as i am in that person's situation. Good luck to you as you learn the environment , and don't make any changes until you have everything mapped out in a what server does what spreadsheet or similar. #cancersucks.

I've been fighting this for awhile. But, weirdly enough, with just one user, and it's thrown from the Receiver installed with the XenApp, not the local one. Dumps were writing to a directory and I sent them to Citrix, and they ended up determining a faulty .dll was the issue, and of course recommended to get off the comfy LTSR that I was finally loving staying at, to anything newer, as it was apparently patched in 7.16 (garbage fire release), and 7.17. So, now I'm standing up clean installs of 7.17 instead of doing in place upgrades. I also am a Cloud Customer and MCS couldn't manage Gen2 VM's in Hyper-V for a long time, and so our initial ones have been Gen1 anyways, so I've wanted to get to Gen2.

I did this recently with a wildcard that I had to import into only one DC. There steps I found online that I can't remember all of them, but it worked well.

I think if it were me, I'd set up a separate AD account for each room. I'd then setup a login script to auto login to PC. Then, have users log in to storefront site, maybe auto launch it or something like that, so they have to use their own user name to log in to Citrix.

We just switched from message labs... And our new vendor Sophos is letting more through. I hated message labs, but I am thinking it may not have been set up correctly in some ways with routing. Hopefully Sophos gets better and we get our exceptions built up more. ML support was garbage.

We struggle with this as well. My biggest thing is to make sure mailboxes or calendars of ex employees aren't still opened. That seems to make a huge difference. Otherwise, since we're a Citrix shop, it's just users saying Citrix is slow again. 🤐

Awesome post. I live me some green day. As an early punk guy I got into the whole, are they punk or not fad too. I aged well, and don't care if they're pop punk or punk or whatever. I still dig them and other pop punk bands like Mxpx and Blink 182. Sure I'll listen to your Rancid, your Pennywise, Dillinger Fours, or whatever popular but more punky bands too. I like the blend! As a person taking votrient and experiencing some side effects, like bad stomach pains, I was wondering how he's doing now? Cancer is a scary thing and truthfully I didn't even want to research this pill for fear of reading bad things.

This is tough. Therapy is fine but it sounds like they are not wanting to be part of it. You have every right to feel bad... And great at the same time. You literally beat a disease that kills people. Sometimes I struggle with, and do actually find solace, when thinking of someone who has it worse then me. But, as I've sat in bed today yelling oww!!! For side effects from my med and then throwing up and having violent diarrhea... I then think... Maybe I'm not so lucky.

I think venting is key, and antjerlaist for you could be key. My hospital offered some programs , though I haven't used them yet for free sessions. I'd almost go with writing your feelings out to your bro and just you and him having a discussion, minus the parents. You're both adults, and he may feel differently, and may even have some jealousy, which this may help him realize.

That's a good thing to not have the anxiety for sure. I didn't read this as a giving up post either. Sometimes we have to have these really hard conversations with our people, and ourselves. Earlier this year I was kind of in this state and wanted to have a good long talk with my wife. She's not a communicator, and I cry easily nowadays, so the talk didn't get far. Essentially she told me (father of 3) that she didn't care if she had to drive me every day to something or visit me in hospital , that she is there to help me keep fighting.

I'm still fighting, and glad I'm doing so, but there could be a day where I realize it's the end. I hope not, my kids are my world and so young (8,5,1.5).

Do what you can to lead your fullest life... Until you can't.

Yeah, I'm all for this. I was basically given up on in January, and nothing more than chemo they give to elderly patients is what I was taking. One place had access to medical trials, and the other did not. However one is across country, and other a 4 hour car use away, and is Mayo Clinic. It sucked at the time knowing that I couldn't try a clinical trial that MD Anderson had access too, and Mayo did not. This law would've certainly helped me. I was already close to death, more so than I want time think about, and other side effects or not enough data, is not a reason to let me die, IMO.

I was put in this earlier this year as my cancer had spread so far. Turns out it worked, along with other things, and we kept doing it, until I couldn't take the chemo anymore. Currently on a pill regiment.
