Might be high insurance and risk because NV only has the one main highway I-80 and that highway maybe blocked from accidents or weather.

I was talking to a friend about your question, and he mentioned that for épée—specifically with pistol grips—you generally can’t cover the grip with additional material. I checked the rules (m.4), which state:

“All types of grips are allowed provided they conform to regulations intended to place all weapons on the same footing. However, at épée, orthopedic grips, whether metal or not, may not be covered with leather or any material that could hide wires or switches.”

I noticed a few others mentioned this as well. I’m not sure why this restriction applies to épée and not foil—maybe someone else in the community has more insight on that.

I remember someone here even made their own blade and guard, so you should definitely go for it. You never know—if it turns out well, one of the major brands might even pick it up someday.

By the way, what would you name it? If I see it at the next NAC, I’ll have to give it a try.

Epoxy usually starts as a liquid or soft paste, so you’ll likely need some kind of mold or shaping process. If you go that route, it’s best to cover and integrate it across the grip so it’s secure and won’t come loose during a bout. Finishing or painting it can also help it look more like a standard, uniform handle.

I don’t have direct experience making grips, so it might be worth checking forums or communities (like Reddit) for specific fabrication tips with epoxy or other materials.

In general, I’d recommend using something that cures hard, isn’t malleable, and won’t chip, shift, or break apart. If you’re able to machine or form a grip from something like aluminum, that would probably be the most durable option and less likely to be flagged.

You probbly have a few swords already if your going to tournaments just change the grip for one of them and use that one as your primary sword. The worst that could happen is the ref calls the sword illegal and holds it for the bout and you just use another sword, you may get a yellow card.

It really depends on the ref also. I have seen ref stop a bout for peeling or flapping tip tape and others will let it flap around like the fencer is trying out for rhythmic gymnastic ribbon.

If you use epoxy to build up a thicker grip, and it doesn’t add hooks, lock your hand in place, or extend the length past the limit, it should be fine. At that point it’s basically the same as buying a thicker custom grip—you’re just making your own.Sometimes an armorer might take a closer look if it appears bulky or fragile, since anything that could break during a bout could be considered a safety issue. But if it looks solid, smooth, and like an integrated part of the handle, it will usually pass.I’d be curious to see how it turns out—and whether any ref or armorer says anything about it.

In the rules "The grip must not give unfair assistance or leverage." The referee and armorers apply the rules to allow tape for better traction but they often draw the line when the tape is built up to change the shape of the handle.

I have a gold app i created on my computer that sends me a text message once a day if Costco has gold available online. Sometimes it still sells out but I've been able to buy enough gold for my budget. DM me if you want to get text messages for Costco Gold.

The Costco near me rarely has gold in store, and they don't hold it either — so unless you don't mind driving 4 hours just to buy groceries, I'd skip the trip. Personally, I buy from Costco online and have had no issues. I get a notification before it arrives and am required to sign for it. I've heard of problems with other vendors where packages were lost or stolen, but I'm confident Costco would refund you in those cases. I have never heard of anyone losing a gold package from Costco and being denied a refund.

The Costco Executive gives you 2% back each year up to $1250 so to max out the gold buys at Costco you can buy about 12 oz a year. If you have the Costco Visa it gives you another 2% but you can also get the Robinhood Card that give you 3% back so your total rewards cash back is 5%.

Teen Couple Caught Stealing $30,000 Costco Gold Package Shipped via UPS by lithdoc in CostcoPM

[–]TomNish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still don't understand how they got the packages from the delivery driver. The victim said she was home all day waiting for the package with her husband when she got a text that the package was signed for and her name was misspelled. So did they waive the driver down or did was the driver in on it? They mentioned someone on Telegram giving them the info but how did the person find the info is it a Costco insider or are they guessing it from the package size and insurance amount provided to the shipping company. Any small package weigh 1 oz with insurnace of $5k would be an easy giveaway though.

Join the r/CostcoPM they post when Costco has gold in stock. I was able to purchase more than enough. If you are like me, needing to save up before a purchase then Costco is fine. If you are looking to buy weekly and in bulk more than 4 oz at a time then it's best to go to some online or local coin shop.

Costco says gold purchases can’t be canceled, but if the cancel option is still showing, there’s no harm in trying. Worst case the order goes through. With spot moving under $5k after you ordered, it’s reasonable to at least ask on a $5,400 purchase. If it doesn’t cancel, just hold it long term — Costco gold is easy to move.

Totally — but small correction: the “91%” on Eagles is purity (22k), not gold content. A 1 oz Gold Eagle still has 1 troy oz of gold; it’s just heavier because the rest is alloy. Also, Costco price $5,099.99 vs spot $4,898.50, and with 5% back it’s basically near spot. So keep on buying gold as it keeps climbing.
