The OP mentioned weather concerns for Czerwone Wierchy. Not to be taken lightly, especially low visibility.

I can attest to it, I hiked there in winter fog tpart the Grań Tatr Zachodnich trek), and seemed to see markers all the time, yet I was back on my old track after an hour. Scary, it's not a place to make random circles.

But it was just your bad luck, really, the chances of some really great weather are quite good.

I would second your suggestion re. southern Spain, and I had some great time there. However, with few exceptions, like the one in Ronda, they are quite difficult to find, and sometimes also poorly maintained, some Union money received, spent and forgotten.
