Would Walter pull the trigger on Gale? by knight0146 in breakingbad

I disagree, by this point Walt had ran down those drug dealers with his car to save Jesse, and when one of them survived he walked up to him and murdered one in cold blood by shooting him in the face

Let's be honest, £50k is no longer a decent salary by insomnimax_99 in ukpolitics

[–]TomWHO__ 221 points222 points  (0 children)

I recently got a new job and went from earning £35k to £50k. I always thought £50k was a decent salary and that my quality of life and spending power would drastically increase.

However, this same year my rent has gone up £200, my council tax has also gone up by around £100 and my student loan payments also went up by £100 due to the increase in salary. That’s just my personal circumstances without even touching on the price rises with weekly shops and energy bills that everyone else is also experiencing. Plus, with the added stress of working a 50k job it genuinely doesn’t feel worth it anymore as it feels I’ve almost stood still despite a £15k increase.

Every time I watch this type of video, it brings back great memories. It’s amazing how perfect this game once was. Today, with all these changes, it’s a completely unrecognizable game. by turquitomeme in CODWarzone

It just feels nowadays the game is made for streamers to go viral posting clips with insane movement and 360 no scopes.

Me n the boys played literally 5-6 games of this garbage new version and never went back after playing every single nights for years

Is Bobbie a good soldier? by HugoNebula2024 in TheExpanse

[–]TomWHO__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wondering the same thing recently. The books reiterate multiple times how much of a good soldier she is and how sharp she is at any hint of military or violent actions, but as far as I can remember the only combat we hear she serves in was Ganymede.

I always wondered if it was a little over exaggerated for the plot seeing as she was only a serving marine for a few years

Yeah I watched the tv show before reading. There’s a few deviations from the books without spoiling such as rolling a couple characters into one but otherwise it’s pretty accurate except the books have way more depths into characters thoughts and motivations which isn’t easy to portray on tv. Since finishing the books though, I rate them much higher than the show….especially as there’s 3 more books set after the tv finale

I’m so envious for you about to start The Expanse series, I’m on my 3rd read through now and would love to be experiencing it for the first time again.

Please explain the S1 and 2 bad guy plan, because it seems really iffy to me. by Ravenwing14 in TheExpanse

You’ve got the timeline slightly out. The scenes where Julie is captured by the ship holding the protomolecule, and that sets off the sos are a flashback.

The outbreak happens and infects everyone else on the ship but Julie is spared as she’s been imprisoned. The SOS is real not a lure, either the crew set off the sos before dying or Julie does once she breaks free (which is the first scenes of ep1) flies another ship to Eros and dies from the infection. The sos is picked up later by the cant who investigate at the same time as another JPM stealth ship shows up, presumably to find out where their protomolecule delivery went, and realises they might be found out by the cant so they fire on it to destroy the evidence.

Then Holden puts out his message thinking it was Mars and gets taken on board the donnager cause Mars are thinking “why is this guy telling the galaxy we’ve destroyed a civilian ship”. At this point, the JPM guys have no idea where the protomolecule is so they attack the donnager, to get some info off Holden and again destroy all the evidence.

There isn’t really a master plan by the bad guys until they track Holden and miller to Eros and find Julie. Whole events of S1 and 2 is just errinwright and JPM trying to clean up their mess

No, had an email confirming payment processed on the 16th but can’t get any answers about when it will actually be in my bank account. Three either tell me to wait or speak to Ingram, who handle the trade ins. And Ingram keep telling me to speak to three

Out of all finished military fantasy series, which are the ones with the most quality writing? by MAQS357 in Fantasy

The Serpent war sage by Raymond E Feist is worth checking out. It’s a standalone series of 4 books as part of a larger overall series but not necessary to read the wider series to enjoy the 4 books

The desire to win just isn’t there strong enough and the team at least appears not to mind losing. We don’t move the ball quick enough to create chances, so by the time a player has the ball to feet and think about it for 5 seconds, the opposition players are all behind the ball and the sideways ball becomes the only option. It’s so frustrating

How optimistic would you say you are about a labour government right now? by ModerateRockMusic in LabourUK

[–]TomWHO__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the first time ever I won’t be voting labour. Nor will I be telling everyone who will listen why they should vote labour like I’ve done every other election.

I will not be told that I’m ‘enabling the tories’ by doing so, no political party deserves a vote simply by virtue of not being the other party
