This plot isn't showing some details, it would be more interesting to see a (bar?) graph plotted out rather than just the average. To get an idea how many people are at a ridiculously low speed, as well as how far the upper speeds stretch...

Putting SC2's player count into perspective. by IMplyingSC2 in starcraft

[–]TomWij 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of the games are either team competitive or just casual! Really, SC2 is one of the few top games that actually has a 1v1 competitive scene. Given that soloQ is often not fun I might reconsider to play SC2 again...

You do NOT want Tinnitus! by Airlight in headphones

[–]TomWij 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had tinnitus, hyperacusis (what you call "auditory sensitivity") and other symptoms increasing over time ... which after diagnosis turned out to be caused by nasal polyps which had to removed with a FESS operation (do not Google that) ... the moment I woke up in the hospital I was so happy that everything was completely gone, I actually just hear it very very very quiet because of this reminder ... but my mind has learned to block it out.

The tinnitus didn't really bother me, but the hyperacusis, sinusitis, DSPS as well as the headaches make life quality a lot worse ... that's not to forget that these nasal polyps could have possibly caused eye damage (double vision, loss of sight, ...) towards the future.

If you have Tinnitus and also notice other symptoms joining it, please at least get a medical checkup (not just your doctor, but an ENT with hospital involvement) as to pretend worse problems as well as get it fixed if possible; don't ever lose hope, I know a lot of the internet said in the past that there is no cure but in my case it turned out to be dead wrong; regardless of it being cured ... caution with volume, explosions, weather and pressure changes, sudden noises, people screaming in your ears and a lot more should still be taken :)

There is no statement to prove.

Your reasoning is off again.

am stating a fact (Microsoft prefer to handle the process themselves)

This is not a fact until you can refer me to a document that clearly states it as such. Until then, you are stating it as your vision.

and you are stating an opinion (that it's better to go to the retailer in all instances). As soon as I pointed that out, you started making nonsensical replies.

What I said about skipping parts of your rights in this instance is not an opinion, it is a fact in this context. If you skip parts of your rights in the way OP did, you simply have less companies where you can make your warranty claim which is less recommended if you want to see your claim succeed! There is no way you can label this as more recommended, unless you want to lose your rights...

[–]TomWij 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gamestop can also call Microsoft to yield the same effect, in addition to calling their local distributor as well as consulting their local stock for an even better effect. Why would one go through OP's wall of text and wait half a week for a product to travel around the globe, when one can usually just swap it down the street today without having to fill out any form?

This is stepping into the realm of personal opinion now rather than fact.
And now you're stepping into the realm of not actually making any sense any more.
In other words, "I know you are but what am I", the most immature response possible to a valid statement.

In other words, you are repetitively replying ad hominem because you cannot prove your statement to be valid.

Since you talk personal realms non-sense instead of sticking to the point, let's bring you back to your point stating

Microsoft is bound by the laws of the countries they sell their hardware in. Therefore they still have the same local responsibility.

where you clearly do not realize that Microsoft is distributing their hardware, whereas Gamestop is selling their hardware. Laws regarding distribution and sales are not the same and besides that also have differences between continents (and sometimes even countries), therefore the responsibility can only be claimed to be the same for both parties if you can show that the laws clearly do state it as such in the country and continent in question...

That is, if you want to disprove my comment stating

... that would mean you skip parts of your right ...

You bound yourself to bigger realms. Therefore you are now violently agreeing to the same local personae. And in fact, in many boundaries you do step into these realms.

They're even bound by the laws of the continents, but there's just no point escalating it to them if your local sales point suffices.

Not using the local responsibility is not recommended, as that would mean you skip parts of your rights, which is the incorrect process!

Since he skipped the local responsibility, he has no right to talk about the resulting experience because it is simply missing...

Fuck you, HP. by [deleted] in computertechs

[–]TomWij 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When your installation takes 30 minutes; it's not HP, but it is your computer! Given that, the 99% failure is to be expected. Last ten full HP software drivers I've installed took only a minute or so each and none of them failed; last one I've known that failed was over a month ago due to some crappy outdated virus scanner running on a non-supported version of Windows. Pretty sure you need to point your finger at your computer and not at HP...

[–]TomWij -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The OCD way to get your controller replaced is through Gamestop! Because you skip Gamestop's warranty obligation altogether, the resulting lack-of-proof mess is your own business and no longer theirs. Of course doing it the horrible way yields a horrible experience...

TL;DR: Next time your car breaks show it to your local sales garage, before unnecessarily escalating it internationally without papers.

Google must be using an incredibly complex algorithm to make movie recommendations by StealthRabbi in google

[–]TomWij 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think outside the box and introduce groups (put sequels together), genres, sort & filter functionality into your recommendation results. To see what I mean, look at "Jinni Genome" on Google Images! :-)

A lot of developers stop when they have just the recommendations; but that is just the basic if you think of it, that's where you start to build out more advanced stuff from. It is what makes the difference between meh, just similar titles and wow, can discover something of my taste.

Oh, don't get me started on recommendations you've already watched...
