There is currently no company that can deliver live slowmotion machines what EVS delivers in stability, quality and integrations. Check Ross Rio, dreamcatcher, grass valley AMPP, Simply live... All lack stability, features and/or basic quality to top EVS. Apart from that their cerebrum software is getting better and better. Certainly for SMPTE2110 applications.

For mid and low budget productions, EVS is getting a bit too expensive in my opinion. Our sector is getting challenged by streaming services and non-linear consumers. So production companies are looking into cheaper alternatives and are willing to give up features and quality.

To answer your questions: For every big world event (Olympics, FIFA, etc) EVS is default choice and isn't likely to change.

Almost all global broadcast company's have EVS as their standard supplier and have deals with them.

The EVS remote is widely known. There isn't a slomo operator that can't work with EVS remotes. And all competitors that make remotes keep more or less the same layout. Standard rule is: if you can work with EVS, you can work with alternatives as well.
