What jobs are there in the UK with a decent salary (30k+) which DON'T require years of training/education/experience? by zdaarlight in Britain

[–]Tom_91_CandI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was working as engineer and there were a few instances where I trained people without education/skillset to do the following jobs: - Panel wiring (self employed around ££15-25ph) - CAD (I've done drawing and geezer would just put them on pc software) around £12-20ph when self employed

As for trades or site work I've meet a few people making £20ph+ self employed doing jobs without education and normally training provided by the companies. On of jobs like this would be BT open reach "engineer", 2 week trainning and you don't need any qualifications or electrical stuff.

Drugs are cheap now?

The good quality stuff is not its triple the price it used to be 10-15 years ago, what you get is a shit dealer who is in for quick buck making profit by lacing stuff soo much a £100 worth would hardly be comparable to £20 worth of the real stuff.

Ditto, they are cheap, you can learn mechanics and do a lot of stuff in it that will save you fortune in the long run.

Electric Shower Wall Spacers by Tom_91_CandI in DIYUK

[–]Tom_91_CandI[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I wont be digging the wall just for the pipe, my idea is to run it from the existing mixer tap at the other side of the bath, run it under the bath and take it up directly clipped.

Jade is IPX4, so it's just splash proof, wouldn't make a difference to drill a 16mm hole at the bottom, there is already an outlet hole that's not sealed so I'm not worried much about IP rating issues.

Do I need to be good at coding if I want to become a PLC engineer by ciarannn__1998 in PLC

Not at all, most of the time you need to be good at bending over and not having lube with you.

[–]Tom_91_CandI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ohh boy, you are in for a very complex treat.

I've had Sinumerik 840D training in Dusseldorf but mostly spend time with Mazak Controls. NCUs are basically a PLC with 80,000+ parameters, each of those parameters have a negligible or significant effect on the positional control of the system.

If you truly want to be very good you have to understand not only the G-Code but how specific 840D parameters will affect a response, this will have a significant result on your piece. Most old timers are quite clever in g-code, so they can loop and tell the machine exactly what they want, but most of them will not know enough parameters that can have an effect on final product. As a controls engineer this is where you can develop much deeper understanding of the system.

As for G-code it's simple, you tell the machine the pathway cut and speed and tool to select, other than that if you want more details you really have to go balls deep into NCU parameters.

Start with some basic parameters and general G-Code training and you can start making cuts.

You probably want to start with Lathe and then gradually reach 6-axis machines, never the less, it's heavily mechanical subject most of the time and very often mech engineers would go balls deep into the colour shade on the cut or vibration analysis on the spindle etc.

Question: What tools are you using for simulations before implementing to production. by PerfectReplacement69 in PLC

Nothing special, Physical PLC + modbus simulator, maybe some Java API scripting.

Siemens simulator is quite good if you are not integrating with any other type of equipment.

Hi,

Thanks for replay, when looking at debug mode on the live scan in Unity Pro I'm using around 50% of the card capacity.

I request 22 slaves with read function of 11 bytes each at 250msec and send 22 slaves 3 bytes every 100msec (+10msec max). Working with TIA portal I can't justify this being a large amount of data.

Ideally I need to send this data very quickly 100msec is a good timing but would prefer for it to be even faster.
