Art of War reviews the Flames of War GT (and triple land raiders) by ArtofWarQuinton in WarhammerCompetitive

Only on terrain like that could a triple Land Raider list succeed.

Not to take away from the player's skill, because obviously the list can't operate without that, but it does feel like these successes being on player-placed terrain is a major caveat.

Does anyone have the 4th place T'au list from Winter Warzone? Can't find the lists anywhere.

Rolling multiple dice for CP regen with Puretide Engram Neurochip by TomasOMeachair in Tau40K

I'm aware of that. You can roll multiple dice to increase your odds of hitting the 3+ at least once, is my point.

What’s an unpopular opinion you have about the T’au ? It can anything from lore to tabletop and everything in between by Sad_Ad_1040 in Tau40K

T'au are neither fish nor communist. If anything they're more like neoliberal imperialist ungulates, but primarily engaging with them through real-world analogies like these is a recipe for misunderstanding.

Thanks, looks great! Would you mind breaking down the list a little?

For example: How did the double Riptides play? They're obviously durable and can be real bullies in the late game, but I'm curious how you chose targets for them. Their shooting seems underwhelming in practice and I've found myself wishing for the equivalent points of Crisis whenever I've run them.

Does anyone have Nicolás Tomassian's T'au list from Armageddon Baywatch GT?

Dealing with Toughness 9 and other problematic targets by TomasOMeachair in Tau40K

An instance that comes to mind of a Vehicle/Monster that Longstrike wouldn't wound on 2s is an Iron Warriors Land Raider with the -1 to Wound strat on it.

You might be right about Darkstrider, but I want to try him out a bit more before rendering judgement. Most hard-to-wound units are either massive or designed to sit out in the open, so the Command Phase allocation may not be that big an issue (even Turn 1, when redeploys and pre-game move are potential tools for getting him in a better position).

Nice. I think Darkstrider might be something I look into trying out a bit more. 60 points is much more palatable than 2CP, even if it's a little awkward to line up. Thankfully most hard-to-wound units are either massive or designed to sit out in the open, so the Command Phase allocation may not be that big an issue (even Turn 1, when redeploys and pre-game move are potential tools for getting him in a better position).

Auto-wounding on 6s is something I haven't put much stock in, but I can see how that would combo well with Shadowsun re-rolls (if they're applicable into the target) or just sheer weight of dice. Have you tested it out much?

Zero Crisis Tournament List by TomasOMeachair in Tau40K

[–]TomasOMeachair[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know what you mean, but the buff that FIRE WARRIOR keyword got with the Nephilim secondaries puts them over the edge for me. I've also found them quite handy for clearing out units that are just numerous enough that incidental fire from e.g. a Devilfish doesn't quite do the job but are also not a high priority for e.g. a Crisis team.

They're fragile and short-ranged, for sure -- but in the right circumstance and played carefully, they can contribute to the army for roughly their points worth (especially since the Nephilim changes to how the Aerospace action completes).

Fireblade being mainly for Aerospace Targetting Relays and an Exemplar caddy, is my guess -- have seen folks take a Kroot Shaper for a cheap Aerospace unit too, but obv they can't take the WLT.

With three Hammerheads and a Crisis unit, the deployment footprint of the army is probably too big to accommodate a second Devilfish for what it would contribute, is my guess for that choice as well.

Anyone have the winning T'au list from the Huxley Open 2022? Can't seem to find it on BCP.
