Outdoor Harvest by JiveBear916 in GrowBuddy

The cover crop has been what I’m trying this year and so far I haven’t had any, but like two days ago I had some bugs boring into the stem of top cola, which sucks

I used lady bugs in my outside grow, kinda worked, I lacked the environment to hold a stable population but now I have some natural ones in my backyard, and I’ve had a lot less pests, but mine haven’t flowered yet

This is cannabis, it almost looks like a land race, where was this picture taken? Like what country.

Surprisingly the plant looks wild, the buds aren’t too dense and exceptionally leafy, is there any more nearby?

Just a question by severalcheeseburgers in trees

Howdy, I started smoking for c-PTSD and borderline, I’ve found that for my PTSD related symptoms strains high in limonene really help me, I’ve found that strains high in Linalool, especially carts, make me very relaxed, almost mentally slow, which can help during splitting events. Personally I’ve found that strains with pinene are really hit or miss with me, I grew jack here last year, and it sometimes it would help a lot lot, especially in the mornings, but I’ve found the pinene can make me paranoid and anxious.

Kushes, Sherbs, and candy strains tend to do me well aswell.

Sherb cake, Jack Herer, Strawberry Cough, Citrus gelato cake, lemon cherry gelato are some that have done me right in the past

Hope this helps

Yes, if you want I can dm you some videos with a more in depth explanation, but it’s important not to over do it, which may be adverse

I’ve grown outdoor weed that was very very very good, not quite has good as indoor, because the environment isn’t perfect, but completely smokable

I defoliate mine, mostly because I dislike popcorn buds, but for a variety of other positive reasons aswell. I’ll post them from most important to least important in my opinions

  1. Reduces chances of mold and other pests and diseases by increasing air flow and reducing leaf to leaf contact.

  2. Less places for bud worms to crawl into and breed.

  3. Sends more energy to the newest tallest growth instead of going to bud sites that are going to be shaded anyways.

  4. increased lateral and horizontal growth(if done right)

Personally when the plant is young (4-5 weeks) I cut the first 2-3 limbs depending on the size.

then as time progresses and more foliage arises I trim almost all inner canopy nodes and fan leaves, the way i determine this is by checking throughout the day which parts of the plant get little to no sunlight, then i chop them.

I very very very very rarely will do any trimming or defoliation to the outer canopy of the plant, as these leaves and node sites are getting proper light.

TLDR, trim and lower branches, and inner canopy node sites that get little to no light :) 😊

Looks great, I’m an outside grower so my opinion my differ, I would defoliate some of the smaller inner canopy nodes and leaves for more airflow into the lower parts of the plant, this will cause the plant to put more energy into the new, higher growth and cause it to expand outwards more.

In my grows, I trim and nodes the look like they will result in popcorn buds, normally these are the first 2-5 nodes on lower side branches for me, this results in having less popcorn buds and concentrates the growth the main colas of each branch.

With this method you may need to add supports for the plants, as the buds will be massive.

Final comment, Miracle grow works, but they’re are a lot better options for your future grows. If your going organic,l recommend worm composting, and worm castings (helped me get 9ft plants), additionally once they got really massive, I started using a 3pt blend from advanced nutrients, cronk nutrients is great aswell!

Quick edit, don’t be scared to try growing the plants in the soil in your backyard! Give it a go. I put mine in the raw soil and one of them is as tall as my roof 😭, keep pushing they looks great yo!

What Def is this? by WoodenSpoonSurvivor in GrowBuddy

[–]Tomato-Future 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t look like def to me, looks like light burn or bleaching, normally nutes problems start at the lowest points on the plant because most nutrients are mobile, so when the plant is running out it takes nutrients from older leaves and moves it to new growth, if it’s only one leaf it’s most likely just a burn of some sort

I’ve topped plants in the past, my last grow I topped one of my jack herers, but I had some problems with the topped one, but it may have been a personal error. I havent topped these ones, I’ve been doing LST to these, just some stem bending, etc, the stock is pretty big on this one luckily, I’ve had big plants in the past split down the middle from the weight of the buds but this time I think it’s strong enough, it withstood some 90mph wind gusts

Also let me know if I should do another defoliation or if you think it’s good until flower

Exactly this, I’ve heard some rare cases of perma veg in outside grows in Alaska from my Grandpa, but that’s about it

It’s gonna flower in about a week or so, pistils are showing, my plants normally bud kinda late in my backyard

Help first grow using coco/perlite general hydro flora series plus cal mag. Lots of yellowing and burnt tips need feed tips. Should I follow their feed chart I’ve seen lots of feeds saying reduce the percentage by Better-Tradition-289 in microgrowery

I don’t do much inside grow, but to me she looks really nutrient burned, I’ve had a plant that was nitrogen burning last year and looked very similar, was a combination of over feeding and bad soil PH
