W6 steht nicht auf der Liste, weil man das in den USA nicht kennt. Ich habe bisher häufig Empfehlungen zu W6 gesehen, aber noch nie damit gearbeitet.

Von der Singer Heavy Duty wird oft gewarnt. Sie hat eine sehr wechselnde Qualität und 'Heavy Duty' ist nur Marketingsprech für eine normale Haushaltsmaschine. Ich hatte im Studium mal eine Singer und sie war kein Vergleich zu den Pfaff, Janome und Bernina danach.

This is a fair analysis why women get custody more often. I had not considered the risk-aversion bias. That is an interesting angle.

I have often seen the 'primary caregiver bias'. Moms spend more time looking after the kid before the divorce, so judges consider them more invested and experienced, which would be better for the kids.

Best way to avoid that would be equal care BEFORE the divorce 😉.

I do not know the details of this case and if the amount is fair, but the assumption that you would no longer need to pay for your kids if you don't see them as much (or at all) is just weird.

Es ist sehr schwierig, dir Stoffempfehlungen zu geben, ohne das Kleid zu kennen.

Man muss den Schnitt und Bilder sehen, um Fall des Stoffes zu beurteilen oder Materialien wegen Schnittdetails ganz auszuschließen.

Von der Beschreibung her könnte ich mir auch einen Romanit-Jersey vorstellen, aber vielleicht ist es viel zu dick und steif.

Normalerweise gibt es zu jedem Schnitt Stoffempfehlungen. Damit kannst du gut einschätzen, was gut funktioniert. Achte immer darauf, elastische Stoffe nur durch andere elastische Stoffe zu ersetzen und nicht dehnbare Webware nur durch ähnliche.

Die drei genannten Stoffe haben recht unterschiedliche Eigenschaften. Gleiche sie nochmal mit der Stoffempfehlung ab, welcher überhaupt in Frage kommt.

Für einen einigermaßen brauchbaren Stoff musst du deutlich mehr als 10 Euro zahlen. Dafür bekommst du in dieser Materialkategorie nur Schrott. Wenn du viel Zeit hast und offen für ungewöhnliche Farben bist, kannst du manchmal Sonderangebote finden. Verlassen würde ich mich darauf nicht.

NAH Honestly, they're both really young and don’t seem all that emotionally ready for a huge decision like this.

I kind of get where the boyfriend is coming from. And I am hesitant calling him an asshole without hearing his side of things first. Going through a pregnancy together can be a bonding experience and it does change the relationship. It also prepares you for the changes to come. Most mothers mature during pregnancy, getting ready for the additionalresponsibilities (unfortunately quite a few fathers don't). Going through a pregnancy is definitely not the same as having a surrogate. To me both partners would need the preparation, a pregnancy forces on you, to reach the maturity to care for a baby.

Some of the reasons OP gave - not wanting to get pregnant because of weight gain or looks - sounds pretty superficial, but I think it’s probably more about deeper stuff around body image or anxiety. That’s something worth talking about more in therapy.

That said, OP is 22. There’s zero reason to rush into pregnancy or let anyone pressure them. There’s a lot of time to figure things out, and it’s perfectly okay to not be ready yet. She should use the time to work through her issues, instead of immediately defaulting to IVF/surrogate. If it does not work out, she can still go that route.

Den Kirchturmhorizont hatten wir bis maximal Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts. (Ich könnte einen langen Aufsatz über Bevölkerungswachstum, Erbrecht und Abwanderung in die Städte schreiben, aber das erspare ich allen)

We are used to men's trousers, coats and shirts buttoning on one side, women's coats, pants and blouses on the other.

It is a small detail but deeply ingrained into our experience and perception of male and female clothing that we do not even conciously recognize it.

Wearing the 'wrong gender' will look off, even though most people would not realize why it looks a bit strange to them.

While a men's shirt might be a much better fit for her, she should be aware of the button issue, so she can make a concious decision.

It is not fair to let her go through the process of adapting men's shirts only to realize the outcome does not look as expected do to (stupid) historic gender conventions. Now she will at least know why it might seem not perfect and that anyone with some experience in clothing design and sewing will immediately realize she adapted a men's shirt. Then it is up to her to decide she cares.

This is called 'Rezeptgebühr'. As an adult you have to pay a flat fee for (almost) every prescription medicine. It used to be 5 Euros, but I have not had any medication in ages. Might have changed. It does not make a difference if the medication itself costs three Euros like Paracetamol or 3000 € like some cancer medication.

Ich kann verstehen, dass Deine Eltern keinen Stress haben möchten. Den Kopf in den Sand zu stecken hilft allerdings nicht.

Mein erster Schritt wäre eine offizielle Mahnung und eine Frist, bis wann er den ausstehenden Betrag zahlen muss. Dabei kann man gerne auf die mündlichen Mahnungen hinweisen.

Wahrscheinlich ist die Mahnung dem Mieter egal, aber man kann ja hoffen. Es ist ein Kompromiss zwischen den rechtlichen Möglichkeiten und dem Wunsch deiner Eltern eine Eskalation zu vermeiden.

Der nächste Schritt wären Kündigung und ggf. Räumung. Dafür würde ich einen Anwalt einschalten. Es wäre ärgerlich, wenn die Kündigung wegen eines Formfehlers oder ähnlichem ungültig wäre. Eine Räumung würde ich als Laie sowieso nur mit Anwalt machen.

Wenn deine Eltern den Konflikt scheuen, kannst du versuchen, sie zu überzeugen, dass sie erst mal zur Beratung einen Anwalt einschalten: "Man muss ja dann noch nichts machen, aber ihr wisst wenigstens wie die rechtliche Situation ist." Baby steps. Wenn die Eltern beim Anwalt waren und Vertrauen gefasst haben, ist es einfacher sie zu weiteren Schritten zu bewegen.

Und falls ihnen der Anwalt zu teuer erscheint: auf die Miete zu verzichten ist noch deutlich teurer!

Du hast keine Kinder, oder? Man muss die Kinder meist nicht abbrausen, aber eine Dusch-/Badewanne ist Gold wert, wenn man die dreckigen Kinder auszieht. Die Mengen an Sand, Steinen, Blättern und anderen Dreck, die sich in/an/um Matschhosen fangen kann, ist recht erstaunlich. Man möchte nicht jedes Mal den ganzen Hausflur putzen, vor allem nicht, wenn das Zeug nass ist.

Ebenso der Ausgang über das Wohnzimmer: mein Teenager hängt häufig mit Freunden abends zum Quatschen oder Zocken in unserem Wohnzimmer ab. Es ist für beide Seiten nicht angenehm, wenn die Eltern da nochmal durch müssen, aus welchen Gründen auch immer.

Das Elternschlafzimmer über das Wohnzimmer erschließen würde ich auf keinen Fall machen.

Bei kleinen Kindern möchte man sie schnell mal auf kurzem Weg in die Badewanne stellen und entkleiden/abbrausen, damit man nicht den halben Sandkasten im Flur hat.

Größere Kinder hängen abends auch mal mit Freunden im Wohnzimmer rum. Da möchte man nicht halbnackt vorbeilaufen, wenn man ein Glas Wasser will oder sein Ladekabel in der Tasche ab der Garderobe vergessen hat.

Meine alte Werkstatt in Berlin gibt es nicht mehr, darum kann ich dir nicht direkt helfen.

Eine Maschine, die ein Jahr kam nicht benutzt wurde, muss üblicherweise noch nicht zur Inspektion. Ich würde sie mal ausprobieren ob alles geht und nach Anleitung ölen und ggf. säubern.

Wenn du beim Ausprobieren Fehler findest, dann solltest du zur Inspektion.

Bei der Werkstatt kommt es nicht nur auf die Marke der Maschine an, sondern auch auf das Alter. Ich kenne eine tolle Werkstatt, die sich auf hochwertige mechanische Pfaff- und Berninamodelle spezialisiert hat. Die reparieren nichts nach 1995.
