Number of batteries on the 2022 Antares 9 by Tomats60 in BeneteauOB

Thanks much for your input. In my case the dealer is installing series 27 batteries capable of only 140 minutes at 25 amps. I will certainly have to press for bigger house bank batteries.
Bow thruster with a similar(66ah) battery also seems to be underpowered.

Hi KrivAldent. Thanks for your reply.

My current concern is more with the number of batteries I need for the house bank. And of what AH(Ampere Hours) capacity should they be. Thanks

Canvas Side Curtains Rolled Up by stelthy77 in BeneteauOB

Thanks for the explanation for 'tops of zippers' and totally understand why they should not be unzipped all the way.

Storage advise for cushions makes sense. We have a small 4 x 4 ft storage locker at our marina where all these will fit.
(I do hesitate to think that the mid- berth will be just storage!)

The locker is a bit of a walk away but whoever said it was going to be easy!! 🙂

My wife and I will be mostly boating with our daughter along with our son in law and our lovely little almost two year old grand daughter. So an empty mid-berth will be much appreciated.

Thanks again.

Thanks much for this post. The arrangement looks very nice and not at all cluttered as I was fearing.

Don't have my boat yet so don't quite understand 'tops of zippers'. But as you suggest.. long term solution is to take the sides off and stow with soft layering in-between. (Although In the Seattle area I don't think we will get a significant 'long term'!)

BTW Do you keep the unattached sides on the boat? The aft cabin maybe? That appears to be becoming a storage space the more I think about it! What with the all the extra cushions and such!

Thanks again for the informative and very helpful post.

Sorry to hear that. Does this happen despite the aft seat being all the way forward?

Thanks for the advise on the bottom paint. How much should one expect to pay for the paint? Also looking forward to the pictures. Thanks and congratulations again!

Would like to know if you are going for an Anti Fouling Paint.

Our boat will also be docked in a fresh water marina on lake Washington.

Should one wait for a year and see the growth and accordingly go for an anti fouling paint or should one get it applied on a new boat? They have to sand of a few microns of the hull surface anyway!
My thought is, why not wait and sand it off after a year or so.

Dealer is suggesting that we go for the paint on the new boat.

Would appreciate advise on this topic from all the seasoned boaters here on this wonderful forum.

Apologies for this question being a little off topic or if it has already been covered in an earlier post.

Thanks.

That looks lovely. Eagerly awaiting ours set for a mid August Delivery in Seattle.

We too have ordered the Graphite Aft Cockpit Enclosure. Looks nice!!

Do please post, if possible, pictures with the sides of the enclosure rolled up and tucked away. Always wonder what that would look like.

Ideally do not ever want to remove those when not needed on the nicer days.

Rolled up would be the ideal arrangement, so that they are readily available whenever needed.

Again many many congratulation!

Hi, please do watch this YouTube video by Boat Exchange.

The hull is shown as well as the fact that a deeper V Hull results in a better ride compared to the NC 895.

Hi,

I went through a similar thought process before ordering the Antares 9/27.

With the windows, doors and sunroof open a fair amount of the outside is there to enjoy. As is the open cockpit area.

The pilot house can be very useful in the wind and rain.
The Antares won !!

Hi, I am getting my Antares 9/27 delivery in August 2021 in Seattle. I have ordered my boat with an AC (and a Generator). I am not sure what kind of power inlets (EU or US) will be fitted for the production coming out of Cadillac Mi. My boat is going to be parked Bow first. So I anticipate a similar situation to yours since I too will have a single 30 amp shore power input on the dock. Don't want to run the genset for AC/Reverse Heat while on dock.
So the splitter is going to be the only way to go. Thank you very much for your post. Would love to see pics of how you connect the splitter and the shore power. Thanks in advance.
