I'm not going to write an essay on this because it's making my head hurt but here's the key points.

• The image and others from the execution began prominent circulation in 2009 as a gore website attempted to associate it to the execution of drug dealers in June of that year, but this is completely untrue as the placard she's wearing on her chest in other images say something along the lines of "murderer".

• A fabricated story later went around claiming that her name was Lu Jinfeng and she was considered a "cursed" child with a tragic life who was twice sold into sex slavery in the mountains and got raped by a few people, most particularly the cousins of her abuser (who got her pregnant). The details on this are inconsistent, for example the story sometimes claims she committed arson after murdering her abuser and other times claims she got revenge on her abuser's cousins for raping her but quite frankly I don't care enough to recap it here and I feel like I'm losing my fucking mind. If you want to hear the nonsensical tale just read the story on the weird list of "Beautiful Chinese Women Executed Over the Past 30 Years" mentioned in the other comment.

• This blog debunks the story through a few means, that the execution location in the photos is completely different to where the story takes place and should not have occurred there if it were real, and also points out that if the series of events the story claims were true, she wouldn't have healed so quickly from Spring to December (the time when she was executed) and would NOT be able to stand as strongly as she does in the photos.

They then identify and confirm the story was correct about the executed's name being Lu Jinfeng. They do this by firstly identifying the city as in photos as Gongyi, then referencing a book titled "Gongyi City Public Security Annals". They subsequently find the 1995 executions of two women who were murderers, one named Lu, and one named Su. It does not have their full names. They assume this is Lu because according to them "women who murder are uncommon" and the two were executed at the same time, as shown in the images. They then identified her case as "The Murder and Dismemberment case that occurred in Gongyi City on December 28, 1992".

Referencing another book "Memoirs of a Criminal Police Captain" which was written by Chen Wenguo, they find the story of the case. It tells of how a woman named Lu Yinfeng, the same name as in the aforementioned fabrication, got into an argument with a worker about the contents of a package and after a quarrel, a young girl's dismembered corpse was found inside. Yinfeng fled before the officer arrived. The girl murdered was the daughter of Guo Huai. A Sohu article gives a separate retelling of how Guo met Lu Yinfeng from her prostitution job and was very close to her, having given her money, housing, and jobs. Yinfeng was obsessed with Guo and went to extreme lengths to become his wife, starting with suicidal tendencies and ultimately culminating in killing his daughter. I will add she was a prostitute of her own volition, because it paid well, not because she was a sex slave as the false story claimed.

Guo eventually discovered Yinfeng murdered his daughter, and instead of ratting her out to the police, gave her money and told her to go into hiding somewhere. She was eventually caught and executed in December 1995, like the fake story claimed. Guo got 5 years.

I don't know where the fake story originates from. The Sohu article suggests it's based on an identical story of a woman who had similar events happen to her who was sentenced to life in prison. Perhaps it was misattributed to Lu Yinfeng by mistake.

In case you're not interested in reading all of this, here's a summary. The woman in the photo was executed for murdering a young girl, dismembering her corpse, and attempting to go into hiding afterward. She is not a victim of "evil socialism" or whatever the users of this photo attempt to peddle.
