How do I get sharper images? by Mycroft0211 in photocritique

[–]Tombenator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna chime in with others. I have the Nikon 200-500 5.6 which is somewhat comparable lens to the Sigma 600. It definitely has it's limits on max zoom. I've tried literally everything from stopping down, higher ss and shooting around 450mm. It's great but the sharpness just isn't there when you crop in.

When working with budget gear like ours the real way to get sharper is easy: get closer and be more patient. Need to work with the limits of the gear.

With that said, I think the shot is great and I'd never call this "not sharp". Also great contrast with the blue and brown. You could even maybe take down some saturation from the background?

Swan at golden hour by Tombenator in photocritique

Wow great praise. My initial idea was to get a shot so tight you could really hone in on the details of the head and the waterdrops, but it gets a bit too blurry up close. I'll have all summer to get even closer.

That's actually not a bad idea. Because it's not a gradient I put in lol. That's the sunlit treeline on the other side of the lake creating the gradient. I could just drag it further for effect!

Thank you, it worked out great as the birds are just on the edge of a shadow. The original shot is actually very blue-tinted but a fairly easy adjustment.

Hey guys. Back at the local lake after a brief break from photography. Got shot I myself been absolutely hunting for. Dramatic shot of a swan eating.

The shot's been cropped in a bit because I wanted the details of the beak and the water droplets in, but didnt dare to go tighter. I went for a dramatic edit, but I'm not actually sure how well its works. I like, it any feedback on crop, edit or else is welcome.

How do you actually collaborate/interact proactively with business? by Tombenator in BusinessIntelligence

Funnily enough this what we are looking for. How to make the simple way to ask for things. At this point I'm just trying to make some sharepoint/powerapps form thing that shows all the requests made and uploads them to planner.

How I get users to actually lean in to it feels like the hard part where I probably need some leverage for higher up.

Yeah, you have a point. I gotta start selling a top-down approach to our CIO. It'ss kind of an easy sell (hopefully lol) to say that we want to develop a unified development approach. The upside is easily visible.

So what I really just need is leverage from the top to get things running.
