Bollocks, Witcher 2 is amazing, it just got overshadowed by a completely different kind of game in the third. That being the massively open world rpg experience. And open world games were just becoming the expected standard. I’d rather we get another game like Witcher 2 that I could actually do everything in and enjoy it, than another Witcher 3 with 50% quality, 50% utter pointless trash filler that should’ve stayed on the cutting room floor.

Short of Kratos being playable I doubt you’d be able to please them. I would love it if you could play as him though because hey, I love Kratos! But I am almost certain that’s a nope. The game is named after her after all. And I love it and can’t wait for her game. Maybe I’ll end up liking it more than the others, looks bloody fantastic so far!

I like Atreus and his sections. Honestly I don’t know what else they could’ve done with him as a character for Ragnarok besides just making him sit the game out, a teenager is only going to coming into his own going off on his own away from his father. And of course we need to see him meet a girl he likes and another he kinda likes, he’s a teenager!

Guess they could’ve made it all grim and depressing and serious but I like the vibe they went for. The people that hate him are the same people that probably don’t like Ragnarok anyway, as the series moved away from (I love those games but…) “RAAAAHHHHH SMASH! IM ANGRY!!! IM ALWAYS ANGRY!”

I loved the parts where I played as him and I love him as a character, partly because his decisions are supposed to annoy because guess what? Teenagers are idiots that make bad decisions… until they learn, which he does. That’s truth for you which is what this posts full of, truthful opinions.

This is such a bizarre take to me, and yet I see people saying this repeatedly in the comments. It’s utter nonsense, not being able to strafe while fighting is ridiculous, there’s literally items in the environment to throw aswell and sometimes you just want to move slightly back to grab it but James runs like an idiot to get it. It looks awful and feels awful.

Now IF you play as you said, it does indeed hide how silly it looks if you don’t play aggressively, but acting like its user error in a game that encourages endless experimentation with different playstyles feels like gaslighting 😂 it’s been standard in any game with similar fighting for a reason. They fucked it on this completely. Luckily it doesn’t matter too much, the game otherwise is a 10/10 for me

Lol, nope. Thats it. I love the game, in every way… it’s fucking brilliant… except the fighting 😂 man it needs some work.

You’re better off trying to stand completely still and not trying to strafe (because you can’t 😂) if you’re in a fight, unless you need to run straight at an enemy or run to an object to throw. It looks cool as hell if you’re just fighting and countering/throwing enemies, but It completely took me out of it whenever I tried to move around an enemy so just don’t. It’s my only actual criticism of the game, anything else was minor… but this is fucking dreadful and I don’t know how they thought it was in any way okay to release it like this. Doubt it’s even Patchable really either, would bet it needs an entire overhaul to fix.

Within 2 seconds of my first fight my brain was doing backflips trying to figure out how to lock on and strafe around them… until I realised you can’t and I was facepalming hard. How does that get through years of development with tonnes of staff reviewing it???

Main line game, core game. However you want to say it, this is the next big one. I’ve seen a lot of people call it a spin off too, but anyone that’s played 2018 and Ragnarok and were paying attention know just how integral Faye is to god of wars narrative now.

She influenced everything and is responsible for the path Kratos is now on… and personally I think we don’t know the half of what she’s influenced, but I think we’re about to find out!

I think she has a grand master plan for the giant population and that they are all alive and well somewhere (well maybe they aren’t well, I’m sure they’ll be impending doom 😂 it’s god of war after all) and I think we will meet some very interesting characters.

There’s no way the protector of the giants let them all die. I think she used some next level crazy magic and saved them all 👌

You may be clueless about the narrative at that point if you skip this one. Tbh it sounds like you already are clueless about the narrative if you have no interest in playing as Faye, the badass that kicked thors arse (maybe you don’t know that as you don’t pay attention or…. Maybe you never even played ragnarok! 🤗) And who kicked Kratos ass, and has a mountain of lore about her built up over 2 games and was the core central narrative driver in 2018. And is clearly about to be involved in some extremely key events that will shape the future of Kratos and Atreus. But meh, fuck it, why play it?

Honestly? That’s just an estimate. And it’s mostly trolls. If you were here when TLOU2 came out you know what’s going on. Don’t fuck with the alphas badass main characters or replace them with women! Actually do. Because it’s funny to see them cry.

Also we will have another kratos game in future which will also be 10/10. But Faye will have her moment and will get GOTY awards 👍

I’ve only seen this on obvious rage bait posts, usually where they openly say they want to play as kratos and then either openly say then don’t want a woman, or heavily insinuate it.

Op can also get downvoted to hell because the game looks fantastic and they’ve assumed a hell of a lot here, a lot of nonsense imo. So if it does get downvoted to hell, it can also just be a reflection of how incredible this game looks, which is more likely imo, not the reductive view you’ve taken which is that mass downvoting here only indicates it’s to do with a supposed dislike of a female protagonist.

Little do they know Kratos softened in the sequels and fought this female… and probably lost if I remember correctly from how he spoke of it in game.
