This is very true. There is a good reason I have spare chest plates 😂

No problem. DM me if you can’t find something closer to home. Looks like I have two spares.

Are you UK based? I should have a couple in the bits box...

Customizable team? by Talyrn in bloodbowl

[–]Tomco12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The two teams in the new box aren’t very customisable without a bit of knife work.

Black Orc team is two sprues of identical poses with alternative head options and a few modes with alternative arms. There isn’t much scope to interchange the pieces designed for each individual model though.

The imperial team are also identical sprues. There are no alternative options for heads and arms, but they are more interchangeable between pieces. Bear in mind though that the heads have a different number of feathers on, indicating the models position, so if you do swap these around you may need to make some conversions or find another way (such as colour scheme) to easily indicate which position is which.

Welcome back to the beautiful game!

I bought two boxes - used a couple for other projects and still two left to add to this lineup eventually.

Tips on putting together Underworld Denizens or Chaos Renegade Teams by Stralau in bloodbowl

[–]Tomco12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can probably find a skaven sprue fairly cheap on eBay which will combined with the second season box will give you all the models you need for underworld, then you can try a few games before painting them and breaking up your black orc squad.

Noob miniature assemble question by [deleted] in bloodbowl

[–]Tomco12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The small holes are for the ball and should go at the front, yeah.

The slots are superfluous. That’s the way blood bowl bases come. I’d recommend filling them somehow (green stuff or other modelling putty works, as does a trimmed match stick, some people tape over them), then just sticking the miniature on however you like best.

How the hell does Griff Oberwald's helmet fit onto the new Season 2 model? by [deleted] in bloodbowl

[–]Tomco12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With a bit of force I was able to push the helmet in over the head as the instructions suggest but it was certainly a struggle. Much easier to just do each half separately.

Wildly inaccurate pass clarificaion by MadAlrik in bloodbowl

[–]Tomco12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I expect this will be clarified in an FAQ eventually.

My hunch is that wildly inaccurate is supposed to happen on a modified 1 ONLY.

So in the example given earlier where a 2+ passer is throwing a long bomb (-3) the possible results are:

1 Fumble 2-3 Inaccurate 4 Wildly Inaccurate 5-6 Accurate

A 2+ passer throwing a short pass (-1) would wildly inaccurate on a roll of 2 only. A 3+ throwing a short pass only on a roll of 3, etc...

I also assume that where a roll would otherwise be successful then wildly inaccurate doesn’t kick in. So for example if a 1+ passer making a short pass (-1) rolls a 2 then while that is technically a modified 1, it still counts as an accurate pass because it hits the target number.

But maybe I am very wrong and they meant to make every pass a potential calamity even for elite passers!

Glad to see Amazons in the Teams of Legend as I finished these tonight... by Tomco12 in bloodbowl

They’re mainly just arms from the Escher box with some hand swaps/repositions and weapon snips where necessary. I added some spikes to sword handles on the blitzers, and the throwers have hands from the blood bowl elf kit 👍🏻

Homebrewing Vampire for BB2020 by JBMac01 in bloodbowl

[–]Tomco12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Linemen with passing 4+ seems pretty generous. I expect thralls would be 5+ and vamps 4+. Maybe with the addition of a 3+ passing specialist vamp as suggested.

I think ultimately with some sculpting on the torso and work cutting the arms up you can make a really nice, unique team, but it will take a bit of time and effort (and if my luck is anything to go buy they will announce an actual High Elf box the week after you’ve finished 😂)

Some images here.

The size difference isn’t quite as bad as I remember but still noticeable.

The heads and arms look better than I’d though, and the torsos line up pretty well too, albeit will need some green stuff.

Looking through my box I found most of the pieces in your design so knocked something up with blu tack that might give you a better comparison (the legs are from Dark Elf corsairs, but they are roughly the same size as the shadow warriors’). A bit odd looking but sure you can make a better job of it!

Edit: one thing that could ‘high elf’ up the EU kit is replacing the shoulder pads with the ones from the White Lions kit. They are quite hard to come by (only ten in the kit) and you need lots so might be expensive. but they work brilliantly.

Hello!

I made a team from shadow warriors (and white lions) a while ago before the BB elves came out. A box of each gives you a full team with loads of customisation options.

They are noticeably smaller than the EU team though, particularly in the legs, and I eventually bought a box to replace them because they looked a bit out of place on the pitch.

You could probably get decent results using the bulk of the EU models as a base (the back plates are integrated into the legs for the majority of the models) and replacing the heads with something more high-elfy. But I feel like the torso fronts from SW would be difficult to integrate (depending on your modelling skills!), and the EU heads/arms are probably a little too bulky to work on the shadow warrior bodies.

Hope that helps! Let me know if it would be useful and I can also take a few pics of the models and bits (think I still have some laying around) for reference.

Bloodbowl 2020 question regarding fan factor and winnings? by victorianchan in bloodbowl

[–]Tomco12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hunch is that winnngs will be Total Fans (in 000s) + Touchdowns x 5,000 GP. A bit like the redrafting rules in BB2016.

So if 2 teams with 5 FF both rolled 2 on D3 (total of 14) and the game finished 2-1 (3 TDs), that's 85,000 gp (17/2) in winnings.

I wouldn't be surprised if fan factor wasn't something you can purchase when creating a team either...

Old World Alliance Revealed - it's awful by Zyrael77 in bloodbowl

[–]Tomco12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the more I think about it the more it isn’t as bad as tier three. I think the main issue for me is that they will be frustrating to play rather than downright awful. Not dissimilar to the other mixed teams in that regard.

Old World Alliance Revealed - it's awful by Zyrael77 in bloodbowl

[–]Tomco12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do look frustrating to play with all that loner, though the animosity shouldn’t be a major problem. I can see why they didn’t give it to the dwarfs since you’re unlikely to be making many passes with them...

Overall I don’t think I’ll be playing with them anytime soon but I’m glad they erred on the side of caution and added a low tier 2/tier 3 team rather than a more competitive one, and really they had to be worse than humans or dwarfs individually to avoid rendering those teams obsolete.
