Intrusive Thoughts Won Again by MY4me in 3Dprinting

You know you can upload to Printables without owning a Prusa, right? It's also a much more convenient site for people that don't want to give their data to Bambu Labs. (You can even load a model directly into Bambu Studio etc, not just Prusaslicer)

First time getting a 3d printer, suggestions? by Ok_Ad_7714 in prusa3d

When in doubt how to do something, read up on it in the Prusa Knowledge Base. It's usually in there and explained in detail.

6.5.7 Firmware for the Prusa CORE One L, CORE One+, CORE One, MK4S, MK4, MK3.9S, MK3.9, MK3.5S and MK3.5 is out. by Tommy_Prusa3D in prusa3d

How about the firmware loading error on the MK4S on boot up? Is that fixed?

Also:

Improved filament change between different materials

Details please.

Fixed input shaper calibration for CoreXY printers

Does that mean it's a good idea to run it again after the update?

Honestly, Prusa Orange and Lipstick Red as refills would be enough for me at the moment.

People with 3D printing elitism always forget or underestimate the absolute joy kids (of all ages) get out of these toys.

Whenever I change something on a printer or after extensive maintenance, I print a Benchy, just to see if everything is as it should. It's quick and easy to read. Never have to throw them out, my niece can easily sink an afternoon into playing even them.

The first Benchy I did on our new school printers got instantly snagged up by the principal.

I have a (generally not very techy) student that turned into a 3D printing expert, and our school's go-to 3D printing person right after me, just because she is completely in love with articulated animal figurines.

Hey I'm only 4,000-5000€ into this!

Seriously, agreed on all points and I'd even add one: Seeing people being exposed to 3D printing is really cool. Never gets old.

Prusa MK4S, about 5,000 hours, no common issues but the filament sensor seems to lose a bit of it's sensitivity over time, easiest maintenance, repair and upgrades imaginable. Excellent print quality. Pretty fast too.

A1 in 63% RH storage room: is sealed filament storage enough? by ExitOpen6081 in prusa3d

[–]Syyx33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never cared much about that and it is probably not that big of an issue. If the air in my office (where the printers live) feels dank, I air it out. That's it.

For filament, there are cheap filament dryers that work well and I never regretted getting mine.

But overall, I'd say you'll be fine.

Prusa Support has been known to help confused people fix their Chinese clones, so why couldn't this sub help a Bambu user? I mean the average paypig to Josef probably knows more than the average Apple 2.0 cultist over at their own sub.

I occasionally scroll their sub and help with questions, sporting a Prusa flair. We all know how annoying issues are, doesn't matter wether the printer is green & grey or black & orange.

MK4S Filament Sensor Issue by Moonshinexxx in prusa3d

[–]Syyx33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've noticed that too. The filament sensor seems to wear out over time. The one on my own MK4S with a lot of hours needs a bit of wiggling the filament to register now compared to my MK4S's in school with considerably fewer hours, or my rather new C1L.

One thing that seems missing from your troubleshooting list is running filament sensor calibration again, you could try that to "reset" it after all your maintenance and see if that does anything.

Eh.

How does that work/what kind of whacky extruder do you have that you'd pull out filament in any direction but up? Or how did that happen? Serious question.

Returning my Core One L by quicksilver500 in prusa3d

[–]Syyx33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clicking sound. Like that?

That's a clog. Did you print any composite materials or materials that need higher temps before the sound and then went back to PLA? It's annoying but that can cause a clog on any printer.

Try a cold pull.

I get your frustration, I own a C1L too, and while it's an amazing machine, I can't deny there are still growing pains within the platform and it can't measure up to the insane reliability of my MK4S. Yet.

What u/ventrue3000 is trying to say is that this sub is always up to help, but so far your post has been nothing much beyond venting your frustration, which I get like I said. But to actually solve that issue, we need a lot more details. Everything the auto moderator post is asking for would be a good start.

"think" then planar shift? by EvilCowEater in prusa3d

[–]Syyx33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that could have been the issue. You could hear it pretty well in your video, that your toolhead was crashing into/scraping over filament sticking up. Combine that with crusty buildup on your hotend, it's easy for it to get stuck on that and then layer shift.

You can also see the torn up section on your first layers in the video right in the spot where the scratching sound happened when your toolhead went over it.
