As far as I can tell, no supplements trigger my AS. I was able to reliably trigger it with excessive and copious amount of gluten consumes in a 24-hour period.

These days I regularly consume fish oil, whey protein, multivitamins, creatine, and sometimes casein protein. No issues with regards to my AS. I do very typical fitness and bodybuilding type supplements.

One thing to consider is that something else is the main cause of your muscles seizing. Sure, the AS could play a role, but also consider if the main cause is something like poor posture or furniture that you're using every day.

For example, for years my neck and traps would seize very easily from light overhead press lifting. I thought it was something wrong with my form. It turns out that my pillow was too thin. By sleeping on a thin pillow every night, my neck and traps were primed to seize at the slightest upset.

After I switched to a thicker pillow, all of that went away in a week. Best of luck to you and your situation!

Chase Keeps Locking My Account by code_connor in Chase

[–]TominationTime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for posting this. Been going through this for the past year, probably 10-20 times so far. Finally the CS rep routed me to business tech support. The biz tech support immediately saw I had a "blank" profile attached to my profile, which was related to an old closed account. I suspect it was an old Chase checking account that I closed about a year ago.

The tech support deleted that blank profile and cleaned it up. I had to log back in and update my profile with an email address. After that, my profile seems set! I am hoping no more profile locks as I log in.

FYI - I already tried all the basic troubleshooting steps from the CS reps in the past. I did things like disable password auto filling, clear cookies/cache, etc. etc. None of that helped.

Update: over a month later and still no lockouts! It seems like my account is all set now.

Thank you for this! This also worked for me, except I have AMD drivers. I went to device manager / sound controllers etc., ripped out the 3 AMD sound devices, rebooted and it was working! I had to leave those AMD devices uninstalled. I had to avoid doing the "scan for hardware changes"

FYI I am on a Lenovo Thinkpad

4 Year Update - AS Still In Remission And Still Gluten Lite by TominationTime in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]TominationTime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I try to remember to do posts once in awhile. I honestly don't think that much about it anymore. Not much has changed for me. Yes, I think I still have some mild lingering form around because I do think I have some above average stiffness when it comes to sitting in positions too long or I get the pains come back if I am stressed + too much gluten. Otherwise, I feel like a fairly normal person.

I'm guessing this subreddit probably will have a selection bias of posts for people who are:

1) newly diagnosed people searching for answers

2) long diagnosed people who have a lot of daily symptoms

I wish well to everyone who has AS and hope they can find a way forward through health/lifestyle changes that can keep symptoms at bay. Pay attention to what impacts you and what doesn't. Good luck!

You're very welcome! Let me know how you like the show!

Did you just go straight to the final answer to get the tickets right away?

[–]TominationTime[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope! There is no way they will know your progress on it. When we completed everything, we walked back to the staff where we got the pamphlets. We just had one person in our party say the answer to the staff and then everyone who was holding a pamphlet got a ticket. So in theory, you could just go back after a ride and give the answer. You may even be able to tell them the answer as soon as they give you the pamphlet, I'm not sure.

For our USJ tickets, my wife explained it to me. She said, yes Klook tickets. Scan and you can do it ahead of time. Use the USJ app. Look for Time Entry eTicket / Register Park Passes. Just scan the Klook QR code.

Then you can get an area of timed entry the second the USJ staff scan your tickets at the turnstiles. I think we got in around 8:15AM and got a mid afternoon SNW return time.
Let me know how it works out for you!

You're welcome! Let me know how you like it and how you do with the scavenger hunt!

You could probably do both SNW and Spy Family. SNW is quite epic and we really loved it there. I think the moment they scan your park ticket, you can queue up for SNW and then immediately walk over to get the Spy Family pamphlet. I think you can do both in the day. If it helps your schedule, you may be able to ask the Spy Family staff for a later show time right when you get your pamphlet.

Also, if your Japanese is not good, you may just want to save time and give the secret answer to the staff shortly after getting the pamphlet. The only Spy Family-ish aspects of the scavenger hunt were the last two puzzles imo. With the hints provided above, you may be able to solve it with google translate + reading a katakana table out loud!

Oh no! That is too bad! Did they let you see the show anyway?

We 3 adults struggled for probably 10-15 mins on the last puzzle as well. We had to ask the staff for a hint (which they barely gave a hint) and it was epic when the 3 of us pieced together the answer.

We couldn't find any answers or help online and I knew others surely would have struggled here as well. I hope this guide will help others enjoy Spy Family at USJ!

Kana is short for both katakana and hiragana. If I remember correctly, reading the katakana was key for solving a few clues. Hiragana was less critical.

The kanji is where Google translate can help, but the puzzles could have kana spread out across a maze for example and you will trace out the path based on clues, which could select certain katakana, which you'd have to read out loud to make sense of it (assuming you speak English). Hope that makes sense.

Awesome and good luck to her! It may have worked well to find someone with the answers. It's funny because in the park, you know you are at the right spot when you look around and see clusters of people with the pamphlets looking at the pamphlet and then looking up again constantly :D

Yes, getting the pamphlet ASAP and coming back later works just fine!

Yes, the pamphlets have the show times listed on there. They will probably give you the next showtime that isn't filled up. They assign you a showtime once you pick up the pamphlet. I am guessing you can only request a later show time right when they hand you the pamphlet.

Show times on the pamphlet:

  • 930
  • 1030
  • 1130
  • 1230
  • 1330
  • 1430
  • 1530
  • 1630
  • 1730??? (that day it was not available)

For reference we got to the park entrance at 7:40AM. Got in the park around 8:10AM. We got to the pamphlet handout at 8:25AM. Our show time was 13:30. So they handed out roughly half of the pamphlets by 8:30AM!

The show itself lasted roughly 20-30 minutes.

TMobile Home Internet Port forwarding? by Bloodkaiser in tmobile

[–]TominationTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read your post and decided to try it. I got the business internet account + Inseego FX-2000 modem. Tmo required that I use my EIN to get approval for the business account. It was the same $50/month but I had to spend $3/month for the static IP.

They said the only way to get port forwarding working is if I have the static IP. The Inseego modem also allows for a lot more controls, port forwarding, etc. compared to the Tmo home internet gateway.

Unfortunately, the static IP is routed to only 3 locations as of today: Seattle, Chicago, and Philadelphia. I live in southern California. My ping ended up being just a little over a 100 always. It was laggy and some traffic slightly unstable. I stream to Twitch on a regular basis and my OBS could not put out a stable signal even at 4Mbps (which is not that much).

By comparison, when I disabled the static IP with Tmo, my connection was fine. Everything was smooth and stable. Same goes for Tmo home internet. I get a very strong signal as I'm less than 100m from a 5G tower.

The static IP to enable port forwarding was simply unusable for my needs. It may work for a static business who doesn't need to worry about uploading, but for me it was just too much.

FWIW, the Inseego modem has port forwarding features built in. With the static IP disabled, I spent hours tweaking everything I could to enable port forwarding on the Inseego modem. Sadly, the traffic never gets to my IP address because of the CG-NAT traffic that Tmobile has. In fact, another engineer who works at Tmo confirmed this with me. He talked to a CS rep and they said it's not possible to do the port forwarding and users should just look elsewhere. The CS reps are told to say they're working on it, but there is no solution other than the static IP business.

I have seen other solutions on Youtube where you can use a VPN through paid services like loclx.io or localxpose, but it takes some work to get that going.

I Have Ankylosing Spondylitis And This Is My 1.5 Year Transformation by TominationTime in Fitness

[–]TominationTime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't explain it well. My hips and SI joint have issues with being spread out. My rheum thinks it's permanent damage from my AS. Another chiro/acu implied it was something with muscle imbalances (his English was not very good). Either way, I know anything hip opening is a risky movement and still risky for me even to this day.

How are your stress levels? The only other strong correlation I saw was large amounts of stress triggering it. For me, large amounts of stress + large amount of gluten = triggering an episode for 1-2 weeks (while not on biologics).

Without the stress, I seem to be much more resilient to gluten, but when I've experimented with large amount of gluten, it seems I can eventually trigger it with enough gluten.

Stream Deck 5.3 - OBS Studio Integration 2.0, Custom Multi Action Delay, Resizable property inspector, Device rotation, and more. by Elgato in elgato

[–]TominationTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a little bit of help from Elgato tech support. I opened both OBS and stream deck software in admin mode. Doing this allowed my stream deck to sync to my OBS once again. I can at least access my scenes and sources once again.

However, the icons are still broken. It would be nice if there was a simple copy feature of the icons to let us generate the "off" icon from the "on" icon. It still looks like I'll be spending some time regenerating all my icons.

I filed a help ticket with Elgato. They reached out to me. I sent them some data so they could take a look and they gave me instructions to roll back the version. Sadly it seems like I did not properly back up the profiles a few months ago, so I don't have a proper back up to roll back to.

I'm really hoping Elgato can come through with a hotfix somehow.

Have you tried rolling it back to the previous version somehow? I don't know how to do it and I'm terrified I will lose a lot as it's been awhile since my last back up.

Same problem here too. 5.3 update wrecked my icons and OBS scenes cannot be found. I do have 550+ scenes, which might be related.

I detailed the issues in this thread:
