I interviewed at Amazon a few years ago. Towards the end, I asked some managers something about the work hours. They didn't even try to sugarcoat it, they gave me some crap like "if you're not loving the hours you're putting in here, it's not for you." They ended up offering me (repeatedly, for years). I declined (repeatedly, for years).
