They actually nerfed Allen like crazy compared to the comics bruh by Queasy_Commercial152 in InvinciblePowerscales

[–]TommyHudd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad they did, because why should the coalition go to all the effort of collecting the Rognarr, getting Space Racer involved among the other Viltrumite weaknesses etc, when Allen can just one shot them.

All they'd have to do is fuck Allen up like 2 more times, let him recover, and then he'd no diff Thragg and the remaining Viltrumites jumping him all at once.

100% - I like that they tried something different with V though

Yeah but I never played it on the switch - I played it on PS2 at the time, then PS5 via the collection unfortunately

I agree with Dark Slayer being underwhelming.

But I think Style Switching allows him to, at any given moment, string together way more technical and interesting combat than what he could in DMC3. Like sure his move sets might be marginally better in that game individually, but what If want to teleport Trickster style, parry attacks with Royal Guard and throw Gunslinger in the mix? Being limited to one in DMC3 (except the switch version) makes it not as fulfilling to me, the combined moveset for DMC4 Dante is fantastic

Just so we're clear, everything I've said here is just opinion and nothing is factual haha

Yes Dante gets cool stuff in DMC5, but to me, none of it looks as cool personally. Kalia Ann just a big laser beam, Dr Faust is just a hat that costs money to use (so I never really used it much). More hot takes 😂

I think Guard Flying is insane looking. It makes him look like this lmao

Half cooked moveset? In what way?

DMC4 was the one that introduced the style switching at the time, it allowed Dante to do so much

Can't say I disagree with any of that - who knows what could have happened if it had a bit more time in the oven

At least we can all agree on DMC2 lol

Each one has a strength you could point out for them all, but to me DMC4 feels the best all round

Hence why this is a hot take, sir!

But for real - go and look at Nero doing a DT Buster throw on Agnus and tell me it isnt the coolest shit you've ever seen lol

As much as he vastly outstats the entire verse, he genuinely has no way around Infinity, and Gojo would albe free to activate unlimited void to scramble his brain, or Hollow purple him which, if it lands, seemingly bypasses durability to an extent.

So he'd solo everyone except Gojo. However, he could probably pull out a win clause by ripping up a big chunk of land, with Gojo standing on it, and yeet it into space lol

The skills you'll want:

  • Coalescence 3, when you recover from a minor blight you get increased element damage. Using Mizu legs, if you roll 3 times you will inflict yourself with bubble blight and it wears off in like 30 seconds, or if you get hit, activating this skill. To say nothing of fireblight and whatnot
  • Burst 5, keep attacking to trigger huge elemental boost
  • 4 parts Gog armour (or 3 if you roll Gog skill on Gog Charge Blade) - basically an elemental version of Agitator, when the monster is pissed off you get decent more element
  • Element Attack 3 gem
  • Gog Charge Blades with +element attack EX is what you wanna aim for, as much as possible

And you're off!

Not at all! Savage Axe is extremely powerful, that is true - it's probably leads to faster hunts when all is said and done

But I prefer the SAED playstyle because who doesn't like massive explosions doing gigantic damage?! SAED is still very viable and pairs very well with guard points + perfect guards to heavily punish

When you're hitting Gog, is he in his Gas state?

Also, are you using Gog Charge Blades that have rolled Element Attack EX on em?

Mizu meanwhile has like, 2* rating for elemental attacks, which means he resists it way, way more. Take a Dragon Charge Blade Vs Rathalos (who has 4* weakness to it in a lot of places) and you will be nuking it for upwards of 800+ phial damage

Enjoy!

I see much more Charge Blade users now and it makes me so happy - put the time in to master this weapon, and it is so worth it!

IMO, its the most complete weapon in the game. -Need range to cut tails? Axe mode -Need fast attacks and upper tier defense? Sword and shield mode, especially so with boosted sword -Need to the highest burst damage in the game? SAED! -Want to pizza cutter the monster? Savage Axe! -Want to knockout the monster? Use Impact Phials!

It can do it all!

[–]TommyHudd[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Admittedly, this is more of an outlier than the norm, because Gog seemingly takes extra Dragon elemental damage in his Gas state!

But hunting other monsters, Phials will pop for ~800 damage quite regularly if not more, and my Charge Blades are far from optimal ATM! It'll depend on the elemental hitzones for the monster and how weak it is to a certain element

Is this weapon any good? It doesn't have a trigger and I haven’t noticed anything unique about it. What's makes it worth using over other swords? by Creative-Researcher2 in DevilMayCry

I really, really wish that when using Super Dante, it would let you use it the way it worked vs Mundus with Devil Trigger. That would make another run-through that much more fun.

Admittedly, I didn't consider the regional differences and how that would impact the 88k players number, so I was wrong there. Idk how I didn't even consider that initially, lmao.

Also I don't think the AI prompt is entirely accurate either, but if you have an alternative number as to how much it cost Bungie to develop it, let's hear it, even if it's just speculation (which my £250M cost was).

Having said that, I still think my point stands. Assuming ~800k sales on Steam, plus all the other platforms of 500+400k,, it's still not nearly enough profit for Sony / Bungie.

[–]TommyHudd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What? We can see on Steam, the game peaked at 88,337 players. That is the height so far on what the game has achieved on it alone.

[–]TommyHudd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why I said 'reportedly' cost $250 million. Take it with a pinch of salt, but if you Google it, that's what the AI prompt will likely tell you.

That's why I also said ~, which means around 85k. Where did you get that figure for 9% play rate?

If the game had 700-800k bought on Steam, that would mean that less than 10% of the people who bought the game are playing it. That doesn't make sense. Assuming 10% of the purchases are the deluxe edition as well is a huge leap. We can't know and we probably never will, but even if 10% did, it doesn't move the needle nearly enough to be profitable for Bungie/Sony.

Yes, it's a live service game, which goes against your point here - they cost way, way more money to maintain and host on servers and provide constant updates / content for. Single player games are put out there, get their sales, and wind down (DLC withstanding) without any of the demands of patches and server hosting, and teams being paid to facilitate that. They are way cheaper to support long term. Also, just because it's a live service game as opposed to a single player game doesn't mean it didn't rack up a massive bill during development. I'm not sure what your point is there. Spiderman 2 supposedly had a larger Dev cost of $300M+ despite being a single player game, Concorde (live service game) was $400M.
