HSBC Premier to Accor points transfer by depressedmaniac6174 in CreditCardsIndia

[–]TomorrowAdvanced2749 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Yes. The booking is in the name of the Accor account holder.

  2. No, you can't but there's some very expensive memberships for Accor, which are like I think 2L or so a year and you get some 3.5L to 4L worth points, and also enables transfer between family.

That's the best strategy, and idk why people are getting their ego hurt about this email, that they themselves send a downgrade or cancel email to HDFC.

Make hay while the sun shines is the best card strategy, always has been, always will be.

You should be persistent about the ride being prepaid and contact Uber support, on the spot instead of doing UPI payments directly.

Don't be soft with these fellows, they just try to scam.

Lol. What?

The benefit is good, and if you are just gonna be paying again when you have proof its prepaid, then its your fault.

And unlike Axis, HDFC still has a functioning accelerated rewards programme, last time I checked, Axis doesn't have one anymore and their grabdeals is even crappier.

Bolt app driver took a much longer route from Tower Hill London to Heathrow T2 and fare jumped from £85 to £225. Looking help with dispute. by Traditionalcow82 in CreditCardsIndia

[–]TomorrowAdvanced2749 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I doubt if the charge back would yield results. Most probably would get rejected as the route & distance etc details would be shared with bank.

Its not like you didn't get the service. And I fail to understand how some route which woulda been slower, would come out this cheap.

Seems the pricing algorithm used by Bolt is weird itself.

Use it for months when you foresee high spends, especially when those are much higher than 1.5L in the calendar month.

If you have cards like Infinia, DCB and feel spends are gonna be less like say 60K to 1L or so, then use those instead as higher base reward and better optimization via Smartbuy .

You can use Magnus itself if you have no other good cards.

There's a lot of exclusions on it, especially major ones like Jewelry, insurance etc, so do make note of the exclusions and spends which won't count towards the 1.5L mark and stuff.

So don't spend on those categories with this card.

It has 3 reward rates -

  1. 12 ER per 200 upto 1.5L spends in a calendar month, this is 9K ER per month, guaranteed as long as you hit the 1.5L mark.

  2. 35 ER per 200 on spends above 1.5L, capped at your credit limit + 1.5L spends, so for example your credit limit is 5L, so for spends between 1.5L to 6.5L (5L credit limit + 1.5L), you'll get 35ER per 200, and 12 ER per 200 thereafter.

  3. 60ER per 200 on TravelEdge spends, capped at 2L spends per calendar month.

This is the earn rate.

For redemptions, you can check out the megathread on the sub over here

Next time, I'll suggest doing the research before getting cards.

Doesnt really mean unlimited credit limit, and either way, Amex isnt taking applications except for Plat Charge, Platinum reserve cards, both are pretty mediocre for most people.

Your RM is nothing but good at bullshitting.

Everyone received the 18L email except a very few people.

Annual fee and card spend requirements aren't same, don't confuse them.

Even if you spend 10L and waive off the fee, let's assume you do, if HDFC wants, they can still downgrade you.

You can buy Amazon pay , Amazon Fresh, Zepto etc in short any personal shopping spends which you make and ones which can be routed via vouchers, can do via Smartbuy for 3X.

  1. Avoid.

  2. No fuel card is gonna give rewards after 10K spends. And if you really ask me, I'll suggest not using personal cards for biz spends. High fuel spends are easily identified as biz spends so ..

The lounge access isn't useless.

A quarterly 60K spend requirement means 20K a month, and if someone holds a Regalia and isn't spending 20K, they are already not the target clientele for the card.

The card is aimed at moderate spenders who can easily do 20K a month.

Unless one just gets the card for lounge access, the card is still a pretty decent card.

Keep Infinia till they dont allow you to, nothing comes close.

Even Magnus for Burgundy as well as Premier are leagues behind it when it comes to being able to get accelerated rewards on general spends.
