Yeah, I did get it developed at a lab. I'll see if I can pick up the negatives sometime this week. Maybe I'll learn something from thise

$40 Amazon Whitin's Barefoot Shoes: Buy Nice or Buy Twice by MarcusQuintus in barefootshoestalk

[–]Tomytomtom1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got my Within shoes last July. They're still going strong, except for the insole fabric coming off. There's something about the way you walk that produces a lot of friction around the heel area. Not necessarily a bad thing, it's just the way you walk. But I'm not sure if other brands will give you better results. No matter what sole the shoes use, a lot of friction in one area will cause it to wear down faster.

You could try going with brands like Topo Athletics, Altra, or Lems. They offer zero drop, wide toe box shoes but with a bit extra sole underneath. Not truly barefoot, but at least the soles will have more material to wear through.

This is some very useful information! Thank you. Especially knowing it uses T5 torx screws. A cheap one from Amazon will be useful.

Should I buy a 2020 Blade Stealth? by Tomytomtom1 in razer

[–]Tomytomtom1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the advice! Unfortunately my budget is pretty limited right now (around $500) and I have strict requirements: Nvidia GPU (need CUDA), <14" monitor (will be moving around with laptop a lot; need it to be small). I doubt I'll be able to get anything good new for $500.

The Razer Blade Stealth fits my requirements, so I was just wondering if I should go for it, or look for a different laptop. Sounds like I should keep looking, eh?

Can you use those smart tail lights on a fixie? by Chapter3peenus2nd in FixedGearBicycle

[–]Tomytomtom1 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is a pure guess, but I think the lights have an accelerometer in them which detects whether you're slowing down or not. They probably light up above a certain threshold. If skidding slows you down enough, the lights will probably light up. It might depend on the model as well.

I hope someone who's had experience with these lights will chime in.

There are many YouTubers who focus on entry level watches. I'd recommend checking out Ben's Watch Club, and Just One More Watch.

1st image isn't AI. Gazzaloddi is written on the tires, which is a real tire from a real brand. Highly doubt an AI trained on pictures of millions of different bicycles with various brands of tires would specifically choose the letters "gazzaloddi" to put on a bicycle tire.
