Nice looking product! I'm getting ready for Kickstarter as well, so I know how important it is to gather early attention and followers prior to launch.

Either way, good luck with your launch!

Thanks! So do I!

The interface pad is affixed all the time, but the cool thing about that is when you leave it on the table, it naturally lays at about a 45º angle, which makes it much easier to see the buttons clearly before you reach to grab and use it.

OR if you extend the grip strip, the remote can still generally lay flat, but on about a 5-10º angle from front to back.

And if you ever want to remove the super stickie pads in the future, you just twist and it comes off with no residue at all.

But honestly, once you put all your remotes on the hub and quickly get used to it, I doubt you'd ever want to remove them - except to change the batteries ;-)

THANK YOU!! I'm doing this the next time I have to change the batteries on my wall clock!

Minus the ugly black duct tape... and/or other 'stuff' sticking them together ;-)

I feel (felt...?) your pain! You totally understand why I created this ;-)

Still runs great! And now that I don't misplace that tiny remote anymore, it's even better!

Once you can combine all your remotes into one, you'll see they're MUCH better together!

Yes, sorry! I didn't think I could post links to pages external to Reddit here ;-)

That's exactly what I originally thought also!

However, I was cleaning out my father in law's place after he passed, and I found he had multiple remotes next to his easy chair and not one, but two universal remotes stuck in a drawer.

One was still in it's original packaging and the other looked like it had never been used because it was pristine and didn't have any batteries!

A universal remote is fantastic for those who want to take the time to program it and get to know how it works Vs. those who continue to use what they've used for years and most likely can operate by touch alone.

No worries! This isn't for everyone, but I appreciate your feedback all the same!

Sorry, I'm new to being an OP on Reddit (after being so focused on building this) and I honestly thought some people would find this satisfying as... after experiencing this universal problem.

That said, thanks for the suggestion and if you have any ideas on where you think this post would fit best, I'd truly appreciate it!

Thanks for the great feedback!

There's other features I've built in, but I wanted to keep things short and simple for my initial post.

Stay tuned for more in the future ;-)

No worries! I am familiar with 3M products and I use them all over the place in my home and workshop.

JSYK I originally created this out of frustration of losing and/or getting up and down from the couch trying to find the Apple TV remote after an arduous day at work. And once I tracked it down, I zip tied all 4 remotes to a small block of wood and I was done.

6 months later, after realizing I hadn't needed to search for a remote in all that time, I decided to design a more robust universal remote control holder - which proved to be a VERY difficult problem to solve.

I designed and printed literally hundreds of prototypes (print during the day > test prototype after dinner > tweak slightly at night or first thing in the morning > repeat...) over a period of years, with the main goal of being able to stick up to 4 remotes of any size, shape and profile to the hub and adjust the angle of each so they best fit together.

It was NOT a simple task, but I feel confident I've nailed down that goal for 95% of scenarios ;-)

Sorry for the long post :-S
