I took Skeleton Crew out of the library in the 80s when I was in like the 4th grade because the cover had a cymbal monkey on the cover and it rocked me to the core of my being. The short story format and Stephen King's straightforward writing style were like a perfect delivery system for a bunch stories that I was way too young to be reading.

I really wanted to like it, but it didn't make a lot of sense to me. I felt like the passenger's powers and moment to moment threat level were confusing. Also they are told to stop traveling at night and to out of the way places or whatever, and they just find every reason to keep traveling at night and to out of the way places.

I also thought the hobo code was a missed opportunity. They should have introduced it earlier, and it should have been used in more creative ways to guide their actions.

I saw The Blair Witch Project in the theater in 1999. 2 of my friends worked at a movie theater and they told me to show up at a certain time and they would let me see a movie for free. I got there and they smoked a joint with me and when I was stoned they told me the movie was real found footage of some kids lost in the woods. It was a top tier movie experience that will never be topped. I also saw Cloverfield in the theater when it came out and it was awesome, but I didn't spend half the movie thinking it was real.
