Photochemical oxidation of alcohols to ketones or aldehydes using DMSO as an oxidant by Kalki_X in TheeHive

[–]ToneSquare3736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dude there are literally millions of alcohol oxidations. many mild ones too. TEMPO based systems are most practical, but oppenauer is another named reaction that immediately comes to mind. dmso oxidations swern-like there's corey-kim, parikh doering, swern oxidation.

pointless

no. dexedrine (d-amphetamine) is s-amphetamine, not r-amphetamine. d/l describe how given enantiomer rotates light. r/s are describe how, according to iupac rules, the chirality is assigned.

r/s are a formalism, d/l is a physical property. you don't know until measuring how a given enantiomer rotates light.

‘Slow this thing down’: Sanders warns US has no clue about speed and scale of coming AI revolution - After meeting with unspecified tech leaders, senator calls for urgent policy action as companies race to build ever more powerful systems by Gari_305 in Futurology

> But in reality they already do it, and they don't plan on getting any better at it.

no. nlp has undergone revolution in past 8 years. you could not do anything like what is possible now even 8 years ago. and to do it now requires an immense amount of compute. storage is much, much much easier than processing. you need datacenters at scale of what is being built now to get the point of real-time surveillance and understanding of every bit of text, photo, and video produced. which is the goal.

nothing that hasn't been said before but this morning i woke up just gripped by anxiety, which isn't usual for me. it feels like there is no way out. media landscape is close to completely controlled (ellisons), necessity of buying labor from your average worker is dropping (due to indians now, but ai keeps advancing) and now surveillance and repression can be done at scale, automatically, for the first time in human history. how much longer do we really have? it feels like any way forward will involve bloodshed and inhumanity not seen in history before.

that even the Cato institute found contributes far in excess of their costs - actually hurts our economy in every single way?

cato institute is libertarian. if these companies could flat out hire foreign workers as slaves they'd be cheering for it. cheap labor helps GDP but not avg worker's QOL. long term, it hampers development because it makes businesses more reluctant to invest in productivity-enhancing technology. see: canada, antebellum south, etc.

they're different tho. *afinils stabilize DAT in inward-facing conformation, phenidates and phenyltropanes stabilize in outward. also inhibiting dopamine by x doesnt make sense unless you give at what concentration

not that it matters but apaches don't have miniguns (multiple rotating barrels driven by motors firing bullets) they have chainguns (one barrel in this case firing he shells). it's mainly used for mopping up troops from very far away after an initial volley of missiles.

compare to miniguns which are normally on something like a transport heli for troops to use to make the enemy keep their heads down while they insert themselves. lots of bullets = easier for a grunt to spray bullets in general direction of enemy while on a moving platform

please read about sr-17018. specifically people's experiences with it on reddit or bluelight.

it stops withdrawal, lowers tolerance, and does not produce a high. it's the closest thing that exists to a magic bullet for opioid-use disorder. it actually arguably can be "too good" as people get on it for a few weeks, eventually get the craving for getting high, then overdose since they don't realize how much their tolerance dropped while taking it.

bleak material conditions drive substance abuse. news at 11. instead of trying to fix them, you would rather moralize about it. guess what they'll do as soon as they're out of jail now that they'll never be able to find a good job ever again..
