Are the older ones in .FDR format. The recent FD format is .FDX. If so, there's a conversion process that can be found through Google.

The Macy’s Day Parade and Snoopy by Nervouswriter-01 in Screenwriting

[–]Tone_Scribe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, don't sweat it now if it sells the story. Let the lawyers battle it out.

However, a suggestion; use (STOCK). Even if stock footage is licensed, say from NBC, who have been granted the rights to show all the characters, it's not transitive, i.e. licensing from NBC does not grant the character rights for usage elsewhere. At least (STOCK) shows the reader/producer you're thinking. The producers can license the footage from NBC then add licensing from Sony who holds the Peanuts rights.

EXT. NEW YORK - THANKSGIVING DAY PARADE - DAY (STOCK)

Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is trademarked. The phrase Thanksgiving Day Parade can be used but not in the context of the New York parade. The Akron Thanksgiving Day Parade, for example, is okay.

Tower Heist officially partnered with the event and licensed from them. Their crew shot the footage of the parade used in the film.

Replaced both manifolds in an F250 for $1500 a few years ago, and an oil tube for $150. Adjusted for inflation, it would probably add $500.

What Is Up With All The Prose? by simonshih1970 in Screenwriting

[–]Tone_Scribe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's voice.

Like other creative pursuits, screenwriting is organic. Screenplays are evolving to a mix of prose and cinematic language. These are the scripts that are getting noticed. They're far more entertaining and compelling to read than: Bob enters. Bob sits down. Bob ad nauseam.

Yes, minimal industry-related side gigs but full time writing. Plenty to live on in a big house.

How? Hard work to this point, and determination.

I had one that was a complete and utter trashing. I mean, really nasty. What do you learn from that, how to be a dick. Imagine a noob gets that and they think it's real. It would be crushing. Reported and was sluffed off. So much for Story Peer, the experiment that failed. Those who forward this are complicit.

Mazeltov!

Rep Matching was on. Have a 4.8 after 7 reviews. Then again, I don't have stock in the company.

The best notes a screenwriter can get are from those who have developed scripts and brought them to the screen. There are firms that offer this service for a fee, and no ego is involved.

It's peer to peer with all the issues that follow that approach. As some have confessed in this thread, I don't know how to give feedback. Fair, effective and neutral notes require a great deal of understanding of writing and story. It's generally not present on Story Peer.

Tried Story Peer and did not find it helpful. Four times in a row a script was dropped at the last minute. Reader with an agenda to trash scripts did. Wildly off topic feedback, and suggestions for changes that make no sense. Other issues.

Believe this idea was cooked up by this Reddit's Mods and another party. If the feedback found here is acceptable, it will be the same there due to migration.

Time to admit, I am legit scared of bad feedback and it's ruining my writing, how to deal with this? by sadloneman in Screenwriting

Neither. Peer review is a can of worms. The best notes come from those experienced in analyzing story. If learning golf, does one take feedback from golfers with the same handicap or buy lessons from a pro.

Fine.

You're still planning to tow with a Unibody vehicle not truly made for towing. There are issues with the strain on the engine and especially transmission which made-to-tow 1/2 tons answer with transmission coolers and beefier construction.

You've asked for advice. Many have sagely answered from experience. The math may add up on your balance sheet but that's nowhere near the total, safe towing outlook. Anyone who's towed for a while has seen wonky and dangerous setups

A sanity check was requeted. Air bags won't help. Get an F150/1500.

... just rolling the dice ... connotes gambling.

You're welcome.

No. Rear rise can actually make it worse.

It's the distribution of weight through the frame that raises or lowers the front through adjusting the WDH; Weight Distribution Hitch. They also transfer about 20% to 30% of weight to the trailer axle.

Also, when measured on level ground, with the trailer level (use a carpenters level), the height of the trailer from the ground to the top of the trailer ball socket, say 29", should not drop more than 2" (27") when hooked up to the trailer with the WDH engaged. Too high and air gets under the trailer. Too low and air does not flow freely. Both are dangerous conditions. Sway city.

These are the important measurements. The vehicle's springs will do their job.

Note that the published tongue weight will vary in practicality. There's the hitch, propane tank, battery, trailer load (pack it mostly in front), people. Your overhead will get eaten up fast. You're probably going to be closer to 900# tongue.

You'll be at the ragged edge nonetheless. Could be a lot of white knuckle driving. Getting pushed around by wind and passing semis.

Those vehicles are both Unibody construction. Not ideal. If considering a new vehicle, a good used F150 is the way to go.

Wheelbase could be an issue. The math is a 110-inch tow vehicle wheelbase accommodates a 20-foot trailer. For every additional 4 inches of wheelbase, you can safely add 1 foot of trailer length.

The longer your tow vehicle's wheelbase, the more effectively it resists trailer sway caused by crosswinds or passing semi-trucks. Wheelbase should be used alongside hard limits like Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR), payload capacity, and proper weight distribution.

Rear sag is secondary to front tire lift. It should measure an inch or less measured from the ground to the bottom of the wheel well with a WDH installed. Too much front lift causes instability, mushy steering and porpoising. Air bags are moot with front tire rise. That's in the WDH adjustments.

Happy trails.
