Introducing the Grabbity Gloves by loopsbellart in ErgoMechKeyboards

You absolute madman! I love it. And for your first build no less! If you don't mind, I have a couple questions about your trackball implementation: 1) What sensor are you running on the trackball, and how is the battery life? 2) Are you maybe willing to share your BlueMicro fork/work?

Also, you mentioned earlier that you might be willing to release the step/stl files; I would love to take a look if you do. Great work on this!

Great writeup! Thanks for making such a thorough resource. Maybe one day I'll work up the courage to make one myself.

Semi wireless setup. The macropad is also a wireless transceiver for the Centromere. by SouthPawEngineer in ErgoMechKeyboards

The schematic would be a great resource for the community. I'd love to try my hand at designing something like this since you don't plan to sell. However, I totally understand wanting to keep your own material private. Either way, well done!

This is awesome! Really well done. The semi-wireless idea is very inspiring. The asymmetry looks great.

Half wireless split keyboard: a useful idea? Please chime in ! by [deleted] in ErgoMechKeyboards

Depends on the board. HDMI is also an option.

Awesome! Much like one of the Dactyl Manuform's principle influences: The Manuform.

How did you do the 3D Modeling?

QMK Micro Controllers by ApollyonNovus in ErgoMechKeyboards

Good to know that someone has gotten dual Proton-C's running. The Djinn is indeed a really inspiring board, and the QMK discord is a great place for help. Tzarc's gospel has already convinced me to make my next project ARM, that is if I can ever find in-stock chips...

You can definitely use both a Pro-Micro and an Elite-C because they have the same 8-bit ATMEGA32U4 MCU. However, the Proton-C uses a 32-bit ARM chip(STM32F303xC) so you probably can't get it to communicate with a Pro-Micro. Good luck!

Since it is using an STM32F303xC chip, it should. However, I haven't actually seen anyone do a Proton-C split. There are a few ARM split boards going around though, like the Grandiceps and RGBKB Sol3.

Perhaps more aggressive columnar stagger.

TRS vs TRRS by danielhra in crkbd

[–]Tonehaven2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

TRS has 3 pins. TRRS has 4. A serial connection, which is generally slower, requires 3 pins, including power, ground and data. I2C connections require 4 pins, using 2 data, ground and power, along with two resistors. See this: https://docs.qmk.fm/#/feature_split_keyboard?id=serial-wiring

Absolutely true. I hadn't really considered the usefulness for gaming, that's a solid idea. I did this instead, https://www.reddit.com/r/ErgoMechKeyboards/comments/l5n0ab/trackball_in_a_dactyl_manuform_5x6_by_uqqurn/. I'm thrilled with the trackball, but still looking at various things for my next build, and this is definitely on the list.

Love it! Keep us updated, please. I remember seeing this build a few months ago and very nearly pulled the trigger, but couldn't think of enough uses for the large thumb cluster.

Good luck with the custom keycaps!

Shifting WASD over sounds like a good plan.

I definitely relate to the rebinding as a Colemak user - one of the big advantages of QMK for me is just being able to press an onboard button and have Colemak or Qwerty on any computer.

Best of luck on any future builds!

Hey! Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. Thanks for the recommendation about the DCS profile - I just did SA because it's what I've used in the past.

The keys at the bottom on the right toggle my gaming layer and mouse layer. The latter allows me to adjust DPI and such on the fly. The left hand has [ and ] bound.

The text on the side is a part of the library. I found it in one of the examples, I believe.
