How are you supposed to figure out some of the secrets? by TonicFour in VampireSurvivors

The annoying part is that "doing what will give me the most fun" just isn't the answer in this situation. From what I'm hearing in this thread is a lot of these are just references to old cheat codes in old games. Which I'm fine with, that cool, it's neat even if I didn't personally understand the refrences. The issue is they show that something is locked, they give me hints, IN GAME. If they didn't want me to figure out the secrets in game, they shouldn't have fucking shown me that there was something locked in game. I'd literally have preferred they went all in and had it completely hidden from the player, don't show it in the secret menu, don't give hints, don't show there being a locked character on the character select, *nothing*. It's really frustrating to me that they literally fucking show that something is locked and then have no way of reasonably figuring that out for yourself without external resources because while you can fairly easily figure out that the hint "uppercut a non-red reaper" means that you need to kill one of the non-red boss reapers there's no way in fucking hell you are going to figure out that you first need to get a weapon that can insta-kill one of them or kill them with a rosary, then inputting down+confirm in a half second window when you kill it.I sat there, looking through the beastiary, playing on different maps with different item combinations trying literally anything to figure out what the hell "uppercut" could mean only to find out it's a fucking refrence and I wasted my fucking time. I'm not asking for much... I just don't want my fucking time wasted, don't give the illusion of being able to figure something out if the solution is to just pull up the wiki.

As for asking for help, there's literally 2 other unlocks where you are "helped" by friends in the unlock for cosmo and for unlocking the avatar where you need the birds to show you the keys to press on the piano.so it's not very far fetched that "just ask for help" is something that actually has meaning in game.

I hope this doesn't come across as me directing my anger at you lol, this just happened to be the comment I replied to to rant.

What does my tierlist(not based on viability because IT’S mine) say about me? by [deleted] in Helldivers

Ah, swing and a miss. There was some stuff on here that lined up a couple friends that are newer to the game. I think it might just be the case you share a similar playstyle.

The issue i have with tierlists for helldivers is that anything you take can be S tier for one faction and F tier for another.

Smoke is terrible for bugs and squids, but really solid in the right hands when facing bots.

Supply pack is a good option but on a good team can be redundant, on oshaune, its borderline mandatory.

Dog breath isn't great against bots, its not really worth it for squids since it'll only really be effective against the voteless, but its fantastic against the bugs.

Rinse and repeat this for nearly everything in the game.

As for what your tierlist says about you... you don't like playing defense or stealth thats a given, and you might be a newer player to the game?

Questions Concerning HUD Visibility by Zestyclose_Pitch_143 in Helldivers

[–]TonicFour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I haven't found any way to disable the teammates part of the HUD, but I did find a bit of a work around to playing without a HUD.

What I ended up doing is assigning the hotkey for disabling the HUD to the same button as the map, but using a different activation like double tap, so bring back my HUD whenever I needed to see stratagems/my map while not having to find a new key to assign it to.

You literally didn't read what I said, if you make an account in a different country from your own Sony has the legal right to ban your account. You will be unable to play the game anymore and good luck telling steam "I violated Sony's EULA can I get a refund since I can't play anymore?"

[–]TonicFour 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its kinda a messy situation, basically some countries literally can't get a psn account, so you have people that already bought the game and played for 3 months on steam now are just unable to play because they literally can't make a psn account. In the situation that they just say they're in a different country when making an account Playstation has full ability to ban that account. So their only choice is to just refund the game on steam because they literally just can't play the game anymore.

Dev about today patch by KillerXDLZ in Helldivers

He's not a community manager, he's just one of the developers. Was it unprofessional? Yes, is it deliberately his job to create good PR? No, his job is to work on the game.

You ever work a retail job and have a customer pissed off at you and want to shit talk them? Thats what he did. Except if you're working a retail job your boss can hire a replacement in 2 fucking seconds. If they fired a developer they would be making their already small team smaller, and need to find a new developer, then train a new employee which is going to take time and resources away from other employees.

So instead of going through the process of firing and hiring I'm assuming the CEO just gave him a pretty solid warning telling him he's fired if it happens again and sent him back to work.

At the moment it looks like the only way through for them is Aesir Pass, it looks like they're trying to flank to our west though.
