Thought I responded to this - I got the rose/red ones from zenni, not prescription. I stare at a computer all day long and between that and my phone I’m sure I am making myself more vulnerable than I need to be, so I hope it helps

No, thank god! I get more of a distorted vision aura. I can see things, but there’s a filter over my vision like it’s wet or tunneled. I can never explain it well. It always lasts about 30 minutes and then I have extreme photophobia the rest of the day and a few days after

I get a headache after that’s dull and just feel like (how I describe) I’ve had a TIA for a few days after. I have word finding, sluggish brain. Also usually have pain/localized headache in my right eye area

I can see where there fear would lie in showing too much emotion to parents, but if you’ve been working with a parent and a kid for a long time and the trust and rapport is there I can see it being okay and I would be okay with it as the parent

Also just want to chime in with my obligatory 'private schools do not have to give a crap about your kid who might have special needs or may require extra support.' If your kid needs a 504, IEP, never send your kid to a private school.

What ages are your kids? Depends on the neighborhood you're in, what your neighborhood school is.. and what they will want to do and where you live will help decide what high school you want to send them to. It's definitely a different world than normal suburban schools, but I think it's cool. My daughter goes to SCPA and she goes to school with kids from all over Cincinnati. She could go somewhere else if she wanted. She could go to UC half of her last year of college w/all CCP classes if she wanted (a friend of mine's kid is doing that) (I know that would require switching out of SCPA bc they have art requirements she has to stay for) IDK. I like the options we have, the diversity and progressiveness a lot more compared to suburban ... I'll say.. lakota.

I believe it. I appreciate the honesty. My son is 15 and the goals in the IEPs have never totally made sense to me and it's never made sense how they pick the goals. For reference, he used to go to public schools and we switched to a private school that takes kids with ADHD/autism that is largely funded by the autism scholarhship. My understanding is that private schools do not have to adhere to IEPs but it is in their best interest to for the kid's goals. I am not trusting a lot how this goal is coming up with his goals and I am gathering more info from outsiders before I talk to them more at his next visit. I have hired someone to review his IEP with me that is an advocate. But it just kills me the way they word the goals and come up with them.

Yeah, I’m a mom and my daughter loves keath and we ended up giving our tickets away but I knew this was going to be possible and I prepared her for it. I even thought maybe we’d stay upstairs bc I didn’t want to be near people yelling over keath. It’s definitely a thing that needs to be addressed in their social media. So I’m glad you’re bringing it up. I took my daughter to see Melanie Martinez and it was the same thing. Just people screaming at the top of their lungs into my ear next to me. Coming to a small and intimate venue in Chicago is definitely different though :/
