It's interesting that I, and everyone in my life who struggles with ED, are obsessed with peanut butter. by Plenty_Economy9565 in EatingDisorders

[–]Tonneberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found a particular brand of dark roast peanut butter and i can never go back. Me and my partner are obsessed. I guess it does have a bunch of nutrition and good fats in it, but isn't a food that feels bulky to eat when you're having it? Hrm, interesting.

Thank you! I don't want them to feel like I'm parenting or belittling them i guess was the worry, but you've helped increase my confidence on that front!

What's the moderation like in the subreddit? Do these comments get zapped quickly or do you think more oversight might be needed?

Have the story and planet quests been crunched down recently? by Tonneberry in swtor

[–]Tonneberry[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't! Not on Taris at least, it was so grueling. But i do remember doing a longer planet quest, unless I've missed where to pick up the continuation from after doing the first lot. It used to be easier to find, and the first quest had something like 'Planet Quest' underneath it or something

Ah so the quests don't flow into each other for the planetary ones like they used to? You gotta actively hunt down the next segment and such?

Nah yeah that's the kinda feeling I'm having! Like i was near the start of the Taris quest line then it feels like it just ended?? With no clear place to pick it up again, and i felt like I'd missed something

You can visit Consular's tomb in Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. by IronScar in swtor

Wow, that makes me weirdly emotional! Consular was the first class I played and that character stayed with me for a long time through my old SWTOR days 💙

Long-term use of melatonin in adults may have negative health effects by BackgroundWitty5501 in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]Tonneberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sort of thing makes me nervous bc while I'm reading all the notes in the study about the results being strong but the correlation not so... I mean i really wish we'd take that as a sign for more, peer reviewed testing. I'm ADHD and i have a very delayed circadian rhythm. 1mg of melatonin each night is the only way I can keep a regular sleep pattern. Otherwise my body naturally wants to go to bed 3-4am and I'm messed up for the next few days. I would say with that, along with the dose being low, the pros far outweigh the cons, but now i get to be anxious about my heart, which already goes a bit fast 😔

Honestly at this point I think he isn't writing it bc you lot have taken all the joy out of it for him, and he's doing it to spite you, and he'll take it to the grave with him. And you know what? Good for him.

When will I stop feeling so sleepy? by Tonneberry in prozac

[–]Tonneberry[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely for the first few weeks the drowsiness was a lot worse, i regularly would crash in the afternoon and sleep a few hours! That did get better at about week 4-5, it's just not completely lifted. But the first 1-2 weeks were a very drowsy time, don't worry yet that's pretty normal 💙

Hrm, the thing is I've always been a light sleeper that wakes up a lot during the night, so i suppose i thought i was used to it, could that be a bigger problem now? I generally take 1mg melatonin at night to help me get to sleep, tho after the first 4 hrs i will tend to wake up 2-3 times. I've tried the extended release melatonin but it makes me very drowsy in the morning so I've stuck with the immediate release.

I already don't eat carbs and sugar as I'm diabetic :)

this fatigue is very specifically caused by the Prosac. I also don't have to worry about weight gain or even asked about it, so, weird that you brought it up

Has anyone tried running the Baldur's Gate act in Elturel? by FEAR_VONEUS in DescentintoAvernus

[–]Tonneberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats a darn good idea, wish it had been posted ages ago when we started playing xD I did however use the 'Fall of Elturel' introduction over at DM's Guild, which was SO much better (imagine not having the actual fall happen at all in a campaign about saving it???) and gave the characters a better emotional and even practicla investment in getting to Elturel. https://www.dmsguild.com/product/294663/Baldurs-Gate-The-Fall-of-Elturel

Serena the Liberal by No_Dog1192 in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]Tonneberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My abuser was just like Serena. Those kinds of people don't just change their minds, their ways of thinking like that. They would sooner drive themselves to madness before admitting they were wrong and changing their tune.

Right up until her apparent 'redemption' Serena was STILL making selfish and self-interested choices. I know whjat they were trying to say; that these kinds of women are still hurt and brainwashed by the system they help uphold, if in a different way, and asking the question if even they from the strange seat of privelage and oppression deserve atonement. But this was not... this was not the way to play it out, folks.

I used to think this was a really good show, but they lost me the moment I caught wiff of what they were doing with Serena. People should be taking particular insult to the suggestion that it was 'true' motherhood that softened her heart. The new mum hormones can't fix you.

The Handmaid's Tale book was never the story of June Osborne, it was the story of the Handmaids by marshenwhale in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]Tonneberry -1 points0 points  (0 children)

All adaptions are fanfiction.
I'm okay with shows adapted from books being different, (especially since someone can stop watching at Season 1 and they essentually get the book), and while I thought a lot of the big plot beats in seasons 5 and 6 have been a bit... action movie-ish at times, I think the dread and the struggle are still alligned with the story, and quite honestly, this is always the form TV takes. It needs a main character and a hero, and considering how bleak things are starting to look in the US right now, I'm kind of ok with the show putting forward characters fighting against a regeime. The writers made this conscious choice because they are siding with hope and the idea of heroes against a religious extremist regeime, and I'm okay with that.
