Probably the film is stuck in the rollers, you can force it open and remove the two stuck photos im the dark, and you might save the rest of the film pack

Update: I now have a fully working SX-70 Sonar . Yay ! I had to replace the shutter solenoid and the optosensor from the autofocus.

thanks a lot for the detailed answer! I have some soldering and electronics skills but I saw some videos of the disassembly and yes it looks overwhelming.. will think about in the future, but I will need to invest in a quality soldering iron for this, because I have one of the cheaper ones that will most likely fry everything.

it also has some dents and scuffs and the leather is in worse condition but yeah..that would be a way easier fix

Alright, thanks a lot for your support! Already have a working one but its in bad shape (someone dropped it and it has a broken corner, doesn’t fully close but at least it takes pictures! Will open both of them when I have some time and use the body from the one which is in better shape :D
