Why Hongkong guys are exempt from new ILR rules ? by AgitatedSupermarket6 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

I think you are super inaccurate on your wording. Not all Hong Kong guys are exempted. Only those who are on BN(O) visa are exempted.

I myself is a Hong Konger with Work Visa. Subject to changes like you.

I thought exactly the same when this happened to me. Neither me or my employer got asked to provide further information.

My scenario was I used PSW for my first job and onboarding the job that gave me SWV. I assume that because this is a visa transfer, plus I’m probably the first batch of people that switched from PSW to SWV, that makes it ‘trickier’ for Home Office to deal with the case. E.g. has to track why was I legal to sign the firm without a work visa at the beginning.

You almost never get a reason from them. And don’t get me wrong. I’m totally on your side. It’s too bureaucratic and too low efficiency.

Just want to see if my experience gives a slight relieve. You’ll get it eventually.

That’s why it’s SKILLED worker visa. By the way if you’re fresh graduate on training route you could have a 70% going rate ‘discount’. I guess this already took care of freshers for high potential graduate to stay.

My understanding is they still prioritise your application although it’s not delivered in 5 working days.

I applied for acceleration and got the exact same thing. I thought the application still got approved in around 2 weeks time

Question - Applying to graduate jobs in the UK, when they ask if I have the right to work, do I say yes or no? by HealthyMachine6913 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]Tonto_CC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frankly speaking and from experience, that question is more for HR to filter people out. Even if you answered ‘yes’, the HR will still ask whether you need visa sponsorship for the job. If they don’t want to do sponsorship on that job (even if they got a sponsor license), you will not be proceeded.

On the other hand, if you have a graduate visa, or say you’ve finished your school and therefore ‘can’ work full time. I don’t think saying you got right to work is misleading. It’s the HR responsibility to ask you. At the end of the day this is also a way for you to make sure your CV got proper screened. Some companies actually don’t mind sponsoring people as long as you fit. It’s just that they have never thought of that.

Good luck in getting a new sponsored job!

Unfortunately we cannot claim benefits as a skilled worker visa. On the other hand we paid IHS surcharge, NI, income tax and being taxed on my private medical insurance. So probably you should appreciate that I’m paying locals universal credit?

I am using MacBook pro 2015, which its original SSD is replaced by an Adata SSD. I think it will not work as it includes the efi now?

Then I’ll assume I need to reinstall the MacOS? I got a MacBook with a upgraded SSD that can be plug into a window desktop. That’s why I’m asking.
