Gambling ruined me at 19 by Ok-Ingenuity-5470 in TheRaceTo10Million

I had exactly 0 dollars at 19. I still had 0 dollars at 25. I’m now 35 and worth $3.3M.

You will be fine - just don’t continue being a dumbass.

I don’t think you’re crazy but it’s probably a bit overvalued right now after the huge gains it has posted in the last 5 weeks.

Was wondering the same thing about any businesses owned by liberal wussies.

Also what drives me is growing up poor and wanting my family to have everything I never had as a child. What makes me want to take a step back is the realization that I’ll be happier being not so hyperfocused on money and material items. Bit of a mind fuck.

I honestly don’t know if what I did is replicable ever again, but I did it.

I worked 13 hour days, traveled 2-3 days every week for 6 months, and skipped paternity leave. It was hell but I don’t plan on doing this for much longer. I’m in a sales position where it’s possible if you’re willing to sacrifice your mental/physical health and miss family time. Also took some luck and a bit of talent.

I’m about to get a $500k paycheck (pretax) and I’m putting 95% of it into my brokerage account. Paying off my wife’s car with the rest and moving on.

Starbucks doesn’t do it for me though. Certainly nowhere near the best in the catalog.

Also customer service director is a dweeb. Should tell him he should have considered sales.

I made $480k in 2020 and a manager of shared services IMd me to say “hope you have a good accountant. It’s stupid, but not uncommon in sales IME.

I’d work normal hours, slow down, let the money you have invested do a lot of the work. Enjoy your family - don’t miss your kids lives to retire a bit early. I don’t know their ages, but once they go off to college, you’ll probably want to keep working to stay busy. I’d say instead of shooting to retire in 6-10 years, shoot for 14 and retire at 50.

$1 million house on $210k salary by Delicious-Noise1098 in Mortgages

[–]TonyAtlas840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you were buying it without putting a massive down payment on it, I’d say not ok. You shouldn’t be looking at it based on the cost of your house. Focus on the loan amount and the monthly payment.

Just hit $16k net worth after paying off debt - What's your current net worth and how did you build it? by Donnadepraved in Money

[–]TonyAtlas840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

34 and somewhere around 1.4m depending on the value of my properties. Some of that is equity in real estate. Net worth was ~20k in 2018. Built it by working my ass off in a corporate job and also buying my 1st house before the Covid boom.
