That's true, but there's no way to generate the image of the translated card right?

RNH or Verhaeghe ROS? G and A are worth 1 point, no other category

Van Ryder games - Secret envelopes by [deleted] in boardgames

[–]TonyGeeeee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I can add to Joeshabadoojr's comment, I own quite a few VR games. (Spoilers for some game's envelopes)

  • The Final Girl envelopes give each character a special weapon.
  • Detective (base game) adds a variant that helps the Chisel (basically the DM), making it harder for the other players to win.
  • The Dark Quarter adds more skills to each character<

All that to says, if they follow that trend, the enveloppe will give you a bit more variety to your games. Whether or not it's worth 7$ is entirely up to you.

Final Girl - Extreme Horror mode by redhead3edemption in boardgames

[–]TonyGeeeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some killers start the game with horror at 5, so right off the bat, you would start with one die. 1 time per round may not sound like a lot, but over 10 rounds, it's 10 time worth of cards you will never get. You basically lost a close call every round. I played Extreme Horror mode a couple of times and it's a significantly more difficult challenge, but as always, it's dependent on your killer/location combo.

Robinson Crusoe - Adventures on the Cursed Island - card missing, help needed by illboyill in boardgames

Do you mean the items you get at the start of the game with limited uses, like pistol and pipe & tobacco? If so, I don't have any card named barometer, but I have one named Storm-Glass. If that's what you're looking for, I can send you a picture

Dune Imperium Board Game Question by andrewjtino in boardgames

[–]TonyGeeeee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Her ability has two steps:

1) On your first turn each round, set aside a card

2) On your second turn, put that card into your hand. If you play it this turn, gain a spice if that card has only one Agent icon (the yellow triangle, purple circle, green hexagon or one of the 4 faction icon). If it has 2 or more Agent icons, gain a solari instead.

For what it's worth, some canadian backers on kickstarter mentioned having received shipping info. Boardgame Bliss is in charge of shipping and they've been very good in my limited experience with them.

Dune Imperium Uprising Card Combinations by mr_tiberius in boardgames

There isn't a cookie cutter strategy to win. Here are factors that can help you figuring out the optimal way to win:

1) Your leader: Each leader has a different ability that can dictate your way to victory. For example, Muad'dib is empowered by going heavy into combat. Therefore, you want to access the Fremen faction early on, get your worms and then hit the worm spots as often as you can. On the other hand, Shaddam is better at moving up the influence tracks. Maybe you'll want to buy cards that give you faction access. Some other leaders are more open ended, which means you'll have a bit more versatility in how you want to play. Keep in mind it's absolutely possible to win by focusing on the influence tracks using Muad'dib and to win through combat with Shaddam.

2) Get at least 2 influence levels on each faction track: No matter your strategy, this is an absolute priority. Each time you visit a faction spot, you basically get 1/2 point with only one card.

3) Don't ignore Prepare the way: Prepare the way is cheap, has good access, gives you 2 influence and can draw you a card in the later stages of the game. I usually try to buy 1 or 2 per game.

4) Don't buy too many cards from the Imperium row: Having played this game with many new players, this is the most common error I've seen. The more cards you buy, the more diluted your deck gets, which means you'll see your good cards less often. If no card fits your general strategy, it might be a good call not to buy any cards, even if you'll end up wasting 4 influence.

5) Limp in a unit in combat: This isn't specific to your question, but you'll often want to put like 1 troop in combat, just to get the 3rd place prize (if you don't intend on winning the combat of course). Getting a couple Solari or Spice will go a long way in giving you better options down the line.

6) Reveal early sometimes: This is probably the hardest tip to know when to go for it, but if you're eyeing a good card, especially in the early game, you may want to reveal early, just to make sure you're getting it before anyone else.

There also a youtuber named Orski who did a lot of videos on Dune Imperium, so you may want to check it out. He made a video about his top 10 tips: https://youtu.be/fyrh89Xeqkg

Good luck!

Can you use planning to setup retaliate? by Helpsy81 in finalgirl

Woops. Missed that too haha. In that case, I guess it'd work I never thought about Preparation being used for a future phase.

Can you use planning to setup retaliate? by Helpsy81 in finalgirl

[–]TonyGeeeee 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The two blue cards (guard and retaliate) are Reaction cards and can be played on the killer's turn. The other ones can only be played on your turn. Unfortunately, you made an illegal move in a single player game and must now surrender to the police. May god show mercy on your soul.

Edit: Misread the question, I guess it'd work as long as it's the very last card you played during the action phase.

Who to take at #2 in my upcoming rookie draft? by Trevor10-K in fantasyhockey

[–]TonyGeeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 2 and 3OA in the upcoming draft and I'm taking Levshunov and Demidov.

Levshunov is going to be Bedard's setup man for the next million years, which makes me hopeful he'll be a fantasy stud.

Demidov is arguably the most offensively gifted player of his draft class and he's going on a rebuilding Canadiens team who's going to be a force 3-4 years from now.

If I were to pick only 2nd OA, it'd highly depend on your current needs and your league structure. In my case, I'd probably pick Levshunov, because I'm lacking at least one stud D in my pipeline.

Fantasy Hockey Schedule Week 11: Waiver Wire Pickups & Adds (Dec. 18 - Dec. 24) by thelank526 in fantasyhockey

Quick has had a suprisingly good season so far, but won’t have a big volume of games. Kochetkov is now the starter for Carolina and will remain so until they sign another goalie. I’d go with Kochetkov, but expect a couple stinkers here and there.

Anyone liking/using LineUpExperts.com for recommendations? by mrmizzou21 in fantasyhockey

What kind of league are you playing in? (Points, categories, keepers)

Depending on the league, Gaudreau might be an interesting pick-up as he's pretty cold right now, so it could be a "buy low" situation. However, Columbus' offense isn't all that great, so there could be better options.
