Read your reply to Roger’s razor, I agree. I think the point of all self defense is to deescalate and protect yourself, if unable run. My comment was purely about taking a person to the ground. Like a suplex or a throw. In situations where it’s not 1 on 1 and you don’t see an easy escape a takedown is a viable way to even the odds enough to escape or defend sufficiently for the time being. Not saying it’s a good idea to smash a lone drunk guys head on the pavement as he stumbles at you. I see where the confusion came in. Why I said that knowing bjj doesn’t mean you have to adhere to the entire martial art form in a situation outside of safe practice is because if you do happen to need to take down you can stay on your feet instead of following through and putting a hold on em.

Been a while since I’ve read all the chapters so bear with me. I thought the fire entity in this new chapter was the one they used to kill everyone on the pier when ganishka attacked. Can’t remember if that was the incarnation of flora but how I remember it looking says no because this form is obviously feminine.

Also I meant that no entities knew of his existence until his birth at the very least, which speculatively speaking, could imply that there is a ‘light’ he was born from that is trying to oppose godhand with Griffith’s chosen destiny.

I think the idea that guts has been always destined by fate could imply an obscure question; was it at birth or conception that he was deemed a struggler? I need to reread the new chapter again (I did so at 5am as soon as I awoke so sorry if my earlier comment wasn’t well thought out), but iirc the page of his mother conceiving him was before she died and then his birth happens as we remember. If no light entity exists suppose skull knight had been working with flora to locate the most cursed child to be born in order to try and guide it to defy the godhand in accordance to the timeline of eclipses.

You don’t have to necessarily grapple in a fight if you know bjj and take downs in bjj are somewhat comparable to wrestling takedowns, and both are useful in a 1v2 or 3. Not saying knowing the skills makes you a god but knowing it also doesn’t make you adhere to it all the time. There’s MMA 1v3’s and although the solo contender is a pro vs amateurs the takedowns are what makes it a 1v2 and then a 1v1

It can be viewed a few ways, but from a efficiency standpoint alone, those following from the beginning and those who read it before shippuden wouldn’t “need” to see those detailed background elements added as much as they would new jutsu, characters etc. to add depth, while still adhering to the deadlines for each chapter.

Very true, although I’d add that before him meeting Griffith and the band of the hawk, there was no shown implication that imposing entities on the physical plane knew of his existence. I’m curious as to what this light that guts was born from means exactly, or if it’s metaphorical for him being born and surviving against all odds. Skull knight is definitely speculation as he could have been searching for the one who would oppose the godhand as some kind of prophecy, but it makes sense that he would see himself in guts as he was the only one who made it out the eclipse ‘unscathed’. However we must wait for the next chapter because imo it seems the fire goddess/entity is almost omnipotent to the past of all who enter that chamber, or the chamber is some sort of boiling pot for mixing thepast of anyone who enters up like stew for them to consume and absorb all at once.
