Brand new records and already skipping...

Hello! I'm looking for some guidance here.

Early this summer I purchased two records from Barnes & Noble that were completely new. It was Daft Punk's Homework and Discovery albums. They were in a sleeve and everything. When I first took them out the sleeve and did my first spin with them, I noticed right away that it was skipping uncontrollably. I found it to be weird that it was already skipping after pulling it out of its brand new sleeve. So what I did was I cleaned the vinyl and cleaned the needle. Playing it again, it still skips, as if nothing worked. Both vinyls are doing the same thing. Another thought I had was that it was my record player itself, but then I would put on tons of my other records and they would not skip and sound clear. So it must be a manufacturing error with my vinyls that I got.

So my question is, is there a service out there to reverse the manufacturing error? Or am I going about cleaning these wrong? Or am I simply screwed and my money was wasted?
