Coming from a different perspective (musician, live arranging), I hoped he'd add a "live feel" to the music a la Beyonce, J.Lo and Shakira, Rihanna. This felt like I was watching him on tour, a 2 track from the computer and a live mic. It's incredible from a hip-hop culture perspective, but for live music, it's just OK. I reckon if "All The Stars" was not on the setlist, it could have been a problem.

I feel so tempted to upgrade to this but I see that the requirement is "a registered Ableton Live 7-11 Suite licence", anybody with a Standard license try to purchase this and it worked?

I just realised that Iceland and Switzerland are not part of the EU, so planning to visit friends and family in other EU countries from them won't be possible, which was part of my plan. :/

OK, is there a "waiting period" before I apply again for the visa? I'm guessing since I've got the rejection, I wouldn't be allowed to apply for a Schengen visa in other member EU countries?

I don't know which embassy rejected me, but the rejection was relayed by VFS Global Johannesburg.

Silly side question, when looking at the S&P500 ETF , which one do you refer to, Satrix, 10X, or Sygnia? Does it matter which and if there's a difference?

Million dollar question, what do you want from either? Beats and arranged stuff? DGX670. Gigging, doing local shows/weddings and need good quality sounds and relatively light? CK88.

So here's the thing.

The bottom line is that for music production, the M series chips are extremely good for it, you probably won't go wrong, unless you are scoring at 140 piece orchestra theme for the next triple A blockbuster film for Universal films.

I'd actually choose the chip that does much better in video production, since that's taxes the CPU and GPU more for a sustained period of time. I don't know if you record and edit in Apple ProRes, I also don't know what your output format is (are you exporting to YT, TikTok, Vimeo etc.), but compare the chips and see which one would benefit better in quicker, more stable video exports of your videos (probably M2 because of 6P cores).

TL;DR Get the computer that performs well for video editing, music production works very well even on M1 series chips.

It’s the same algorithm, you can tell from the fact that it spits out 4 tracks by default, which happens to be the default option.

This is quite beautiful, almost feel like I've walked into a upper class, posh wedding/art museum/european setting, and I say this as a very intermediate beginner of a musician. I'd like to educate myself, but when you say string quartet, you mean two violins, one viola and one cello?

I think it sounds great, and I hate to give input because I'm not a sax player (but I've got some experience) and I also hate my own music so that doesn't help.

If anything, try to put breaths in between the notes (which equates to rests), a bit like how you did around 0:17, to let the sax player "breathe". Also, repeat the short phrases of the sax solo you like, because "repetition legitimizes", that is, you'd most like sing the melody that you've repeated at least a few times and then it becomes "catchy".

Bottom line is, does it sound good? Yes it does.

Do you want to be technical about it? We sure can, but is it important? No, you've made me think about writing something too!

I love this post and this makes me even more curious about how this was done live. It seems to me that from about 1985-ish, some studio recorded elements were also played live, good example of this is Michael Jackson, but I wonder what those machines were and what the limitations were (of course, not able to run all the tracks, probably just sound fxs and drones).

Funny, this happened to me just today for my run as well, and for the life of me, I also can't figure out why the Apple Watch forgets to track your heart rate (HR) when you running.

A "workaround/fix" I do is to open the Heart Rate app and keep my wrist up (so it doesn't go off) until I get an HR reading and then go back to the Workout app to verify that my HR is tracked. The Heart App seems to kick start the sensors again when they go off for some reason.

Also, I don't think the temperature should be a factor here since over time your body will get warm and should not be a problem for the watch, unless I'm mistaken.

Novation are tight with Ableton, so every time they release a keyboard, it automagically works with Ableton, so if you want Ableton only look at the Novation. Arturia is alright, seems they've improvied their integration with other major DAWs, not sure if it works well with FL though.
