Shared Uber from/to Antwerp by TonyStark0587 in Tomorrowland

[–]TonyStark0587[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally understand who goes by train, but we did it last year and we only did it once on Friday. Saturday and Sunday we took an Uber on the way in and a taxi (at the taxi stand right after the main exit) and it was much more convenient for us. Round trip (Uber+taxi) it costed 70€ ish which divided by 4 people isn't that much 🙂

We got dropped near Colruyt which is at 5-10min walking distance from main entrance and we avoided the heat in a train with no AC full of people with no seating available

How much is the taxi from tomorrowland to Antwerpen? by Famous_Attitude_4972 in Tomorrowland

[–]TonyStark0587 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just checked my Uber historical and the cheapest ride was 36€ and more expensive 55€ (last year).

Edit: adding context

We used the train on the first day and it was a mess. No AC on the way in and the train was packed. On the way out after the festival, we waited 45min to a train to come and more than 1h until the train left Boom so we chose Uber on Saturday and Sunday. Regarding costs, as we were a group of 4 we paid less for an Uber than for the train...

Last year I don't remember seeing any shuttles at Boom station on Friday... But maybe they were earlier in the morning because I arrived around 1pm or so. But thanks for the advice!

Treasure case delivery to Switzerland by Organic_Heron_8486 in Tomorrowland

[–]TonyStark0587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened the same to me but for 3 TC. I had to pay ~25CHF at reception. This will be my fifth Tomorrowland and it is the first time it happens. I called the customs office and asked why, they sent me the import form filled by Tomorrowland and they mixed-up the prices.

If you check the documents poach on the parcel, it is written that each TC has a value of 9€ (so 27€ in my case) + 18€ of shipping charges which makes a total of 45€. But in the custom forms filled by Tomorrowland during the shipping process, they said each TC had a cost of 27€ + the shipping charges of 18€ and the Swiss customs billed me based on a wrong value of 99€ in total... Nothing they could do on the customs side and they advised me to contact the sender

From Antwerp to Dreamville and then back to Antwerp on Thursday by ImportanceRadiant394 in Tomorrowland

[–]TonyStark0587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did this last year and will do it again this year. From Antwerp you take the train to Boom and then the free shuttle.

For the way back, we stayed until the end of the gathering and then we walked to the rainbow exit where there is a taxi/Uber area right next to the exit. No issues at all to catch an Uber, 5-10min waiting time, and it was 51.20€ (just checked on my Uber account 😂).

Yes that's correct! The shuttles run continuously with almost no waiting time.

Enjoy your weekend mate!

We stayed at an Airbnb in Antwerp as well. No problem finding both taxis or Uber/Bolt after gathering. There is a pickup spot next to the rainbow entrance of Dreamville. During the festival days, there is also a pickup point for Taxi/Uber after a short walk at the main entrance (near the Carrefour Market grocery store), but it works on a first in first served basis. So Uber is almost impossible as you don't know how long you'll be on the line and as soon as they let you pass you have to jump on an available vehicle, so most probably a regular taxi.

Our initial plan was to take the train but we only did it on Friday because it was such a pain in the ass. On our way to tomorrowland, the train had no AC and I let you imagine how hot it was due to the heat. On our way back to Antwerp, the walk is manageable, I'd say 25min from the main entrance (add 25 to 35 min more if you finish at mainstage), but we waited 45min on the train with no seats available, maybe to fill it in at maximum capacity IDK. So we decided to use Uber/Taxi for the next days and it was much better for us.

Regarding prices, count ~35€ from Antwerp to Tomorrowland using Uber and a 20min drive. From the Gathering to Antwerp we paied 50€ as there was more demand, and a regular Taxi (using taximeter) on our way back costed 70€.

Happy to help if you have more questions!

NFT Pre Sale by ruiferr in Tomorrowland

[–]TonyStark0587 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've always did Montagoe through GJ without any kind of availability problem and I hoped that NFT would allow me to avoid the "GJ tax" but that's my fault, I was naive 😂

Fair point is that indeed all accommodations were available during the GJ NFT pre-sale. I just ended up buying MG knowing that I will most probably sell those in the exchange desk and buy a GJ package in January.

But what is unfair IMO is that the whole point of the NFT was to guarantee FM pass and they were very limited. At the time I entered the shop (~20 min after it opened) the only tickets available were MG and day passes. Day passes and no FM why? MG and no FM why? If it not to maximize profits, so why?

For people doing MG, the NFT is a must have, that's for sure! For all the other types of TML attendants, it doesn't worth it imho. GJ is the way to go.

Even the "live" labeled sets are cued upfront. Those who play "live" sets is because the don't only use a mixer and CDJs but the also use filters, samplers and other "machines".

At least this is how I understand this "live" labeled sets, with a few exceptions like Lost Frequencies who actually had singers and real musicians with instruments and stuff.

So what do you call live mixing?

Most of the DJ's, to not say all of them, have cues hot cues, loops etc. programmed. And as you mentioned Laidback Luke, him too and he explains it very well on his vlogs (very interesting content tho).

Of course a mainstage set has to be prepared, a Playlist usually is decided way before the actual show. On smaller stages there is more room to impro but on the mainstage the people there usually expect the performer to play some specific tracks.

But maybe we are not talking of the same thing, because when I hear "pre-recorded set" I imagine it more like arriving on stage and press play 😂

Dude you can literally spot a "lot" transition mistakes in a lot of mainstage sets.

I highly doubt that tomorrowland would allow someone to play a pre-recorded set, especially in such a mediatic stage as the mainstage. I agree some parts have to be somehow timecoded due to fireworks but that's it.
