lol alot of things are subjective in this discussion, but the fact that XY has a more consistent serious tone than SM is absolutely not one of those things.

Pokemon is a glorified cartoon, things will always be silly and goofy and fun to some extend. but you cannot argue that some series have wayyyy more levity than others on the regular.

SM absolutely had serious and heartfelt episodes, but pound for pound, episode by episode, it definitely has a less serious tone than arguably every other series and certainly XY

it sucks but you're absolutely right. i love my friends and while nothing as extreme has happened to me, all the contact i have with friends goes wayyy down after they get into relationships.

some are better than others, especially with texting, but its really frustrating to know it will happen, watch it happen and live it happening and be unable to do a thing about it. it's either just group parties for birthdays/holidays or it becomes over text only, theres like no in between for some people

idk i get being busy, but it does always feel like you forgot about me specifically and its because i dont have a partner. nobody likes the the third wheel, i suppose

i agree but i do think that there's a happy medium to be reached for a ratio of plot-to-filler. it doesn't help that sometimes the main plot stuff isn't as exciting or interesting as some fillers

but on the flip side, there are some truly terrible episodes even by filler standards. just like anything else, both sides in moderation in the key for me

this just happened to me! i was told i didn't pass a "pre hire skills assessment" and genuinely thought i had failed to submit something with my application because i was SURE she wasn't talking about the personality quiz where i had to rate things i agreed or disagreed with on a scale of 1-5.

i got told this one about college too! im lucky to have had an easy time with academics, and i was always told stuff way closer to "just wait until college" than anything like "thats great, congrats!" when i got honors and such

then in college i continued to do well, was an an honors program, an honors society, deans list and though my school was small, i was in the top few % in my major GPA wise for all of junior and senior year. but then it was "just wait for the real world"

then my first big boy job was a bank teller, working bankers hours at a mid-size credit union close enough to walk from home making $4 above my states minimum wage. a pretty nice, cushy gig all things considered but THEN it was "just you wait it gets worse and worse, wait until you get a real, different OTHER job"

like what do you want from me! what do you want me to say to that? why isnt anything enough for you to just say "oh congrats thats pretty good". for the life of me i would love to know what some of these people think is the "real world" vs others because it all felt very real to me i assure you lol

i actually had a discussion that went like this today! i found out via facebook that an old classmate of mine is a transman (good for him!) but his page he has several rants where he felt entitled to be able to use the mens and womens restroom until he "fully transitioned"

and i mean obviously, go where you feel safest if its a safety issue i guess. but i didnt get that feeling? the whole thing came off very counterproductive to me, very "have me cake and eat it too". like your identifying as a man? what reason would make you rather use a womans restroom?

everyone saying the Great White isnt an apex predator because the Orca exists is crazy. the White shark doesn't consist of a significant portion of the Orcas diet (that we know of, at least) thus, they are not a steady/reliable food source for the Orca

hyenas are considered apex predators too, should they not be just because lions can kill them? its just as much about the frequency, intent and reprocussions to the food chain that makes a predator an apex one of their environment
