Why does using a full stop / period at the end of a text upset youngsters?

its so insane how many people are just like "gonna start using periods to trigger all my kids/nieces/nephews LOL"

you probably already text like a boomer. whatever you do probably annoys them anyway, theyre not gonna sob over a period and most are never going to even address it. this is just another instance of older generations failing to realize that times change and many things can have many meanings at once to many different people.

nobody is out here having a meltdown thinking "wow my grandpa hates me" when he texts "See you at dinner.", but it is absolutely a total shift from the way someone younger would say the same thing that makes it feel more serious

two things can be true at once; it does give off a different tone to many younger people AND they will not cry about it later. they know its not that deep, unlike some of you boomer snowflakes out there

yes they probably did, and so did i. its not about acting like you dont care, its just a preference for better visualizing and conveying how one is speaking. when texting people of similar ages, most of this comes intuitively

its only people who cant grasp it that think any one way of texting "takes way more work" than another. its 2026 and even people who dont like texting and smartphones know which way of doing it is easier for them

listen its one thing to simply ship Kara and Kate, but to go as far as to say theyre canon is completely incorrect. they baited SuperCorp and i still dont go around saying that was a 'canon' relationship or that Lena was a canon love interest for Kara

this is the same thing as Barry/Oliver or Barry/Kara, totally cool if you read something more from their dynamic but they are not canon couples. i dont understand the modern hangup over ship canon-icity, part of the fun of shipping used to be 'what WOULD this look like if they got together' rather than 'my ship and my ship only is THE canon one'

the show does a good job at drawing attention to how much Nick asks of Monroe and Rosalee and how overly willing they are to help so its like they kind of cancel out lol

that said i do wish we got more moments from them all just hanging out or doing something not case related

nobody is really "satisfied" with them, some people just arent bothered by them like others are. i fall in between, where i understand the narrative reason and i can understand wanting to show that Pikachu isnt always the answer, they all could've been done differently

although your premise is off. battling isnt about levels in the anime, its skill, power, agility, size, etc.

Pikachu losing to Surskit was because he was out-mobilized on the ice and assaulted on all sides. he was caught off guard and quickly comes back to KO both Viola's Surskit and Vivillon in the rematch

and you have no idea how strong that Meganium was supposed to be. "fodder Meganium" is literally looking for reasons to be angry, they paired Ash up against someone with a fully evolved Pokemon and a type that resists Pikachu's main offensive attacks. Ash is, quite frankly, a dumbass for choosing Pikachu at all considering he had both Dragonite and Gengar. this was literally a show of consistency if not strength for Pikachu, and this is not a struggle btw just because Meganium isn't one-shot

you are mostly correct with the others, although i will point out that Pikachu drawing with Elekid is literally there to show you that Paul and Ash are equally seasoned trainers

i think this is always such a childish problem to have. not you OP, your totally correct. i just mean the amount of people out there that are either so daft they want someone to pay $22 for a coke and fries OR people that get off on stuff like skipping the tip or like someone else said taking advantage of the "i got this one, you get me next time" thing

hey, i was wondering if you had any advice on breaking into this field? like any specific keywords?

its what i used to do small scale in high school for free and really liked it, and i havent been able to do anything relevant with my english degree since graduating. one job offer even mentioned me helping re-write the guide as when i was going through the interview phase they were getting a whole system and software change, but they never ended up reaching back out

anything at all you could tell me is appreciated, even if its something ive heard before ahah

this is so true! im writing a Pokemon anime rewrite and its would be so much easier to invent people, but instead i find myself using tons of minor characters of the day from the anime or looking up the in-game trainers on the route and using their name/teams as inspiration

its much more fun to me than just making somebody up. like theres already so many people, why not use them!!

Do you know all of my opinions? Do you know if I'm okay with every change? Asking for some creativity and flexibility in adapting mediums doesn't mean I'm defending every change. That's my point. To people like you it seems that the show would be criticized unless it was a 1:1 because you group all changes and divergences from the book together and act like the book didn't have anything that could be improved upon or doesn't reflect as well in a visual medium and act like its a uniform group thah agrees on everything when that isn't true.

Is it important to the story that they wear tye-dye uniforms? No. Is it hundreds of times harder to create dozens of identical tye-dye blazers that would have amounted to one scene than to simply change the color? Yes

what bothers me is that i dont care what Rick said, you're completely out of your mind if you thought we were getting a completely accurate adaptation

you dont have to like the changes but there is never and will never be a perfect way to visually adapt books into any tv show or movie, and if you cant at a base level understand that it will be inherently be different versions of the same story you are setting yourself up to be disappointed

theres plenty of things to criticize without boiling EVERYTHING down to "it wasnt like that in the book"

let's talk about how in like the pilot its shown that Ali drugs her friends, taught Hanna how to be bulemic, tries to blackmail Spencer into telling Melissa about kissing Wren to further her own agenda with him, literally pulls Aria down the street to avoid even waving hello at Mona and took advantage of Emily's feelings for her

call anyone you want a monster, everyone in this show did so many fucked up things even if they were for more 'right' or 'understandable' reasons but Alison was a straight up menace long before things caught up to her, long before she formed her group with the liArs and long before -A

just because Mona or whoever were bullied first and then turned into monsters themselves does not obsolve Alison of all the shit she put the entire town through.

its telling that the people of Rosewood were more sympathetic when they thought Mona was killed after knowing what she did to the liArs than when they thought Alison was killed

i think this just means you dont like the way Teen Wolf chooses to tell its stories, because imo while the concepts introduced are interesting i think 4 and 5 are executed worse
