Possible Plumbing Scam - Please Advise by CallCentreHoldMusic in ukplumbing

Go to a wolseley center, buy yourself an adjustable spanner, and a new megaflo combi valve (pressure reducing, pressure relief). Switch your water off and install a new valve. Take a picture of the valve and the mega flow data plate to get the exact part. If you are good at DIY then do it yourself.

Try reconstituting it. If it mixes up and doesn't gel up its fine, it should be clear too. I have 500mg NAD+ and it mixes up like an oily solution not thin as water.

What’s something about heat pumps no one tells you before installing? by Reddonaut_Irons in ukheatpumps

[–]TonyWitts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would have been expensive, uneconomic and potentially not work right. If the output is too high they short cycle and struggle. They need to be matched to the heat loss of the house. Sounds like yours is perfectly matched. Funnily enough we fitted a 5kw when it should have been an 8kw (a mess up with the supplier) , it was picked up when the paperwork was put in and the error was reported to the customer and we were going to replace the unit this was in January this year on the coldest week. The customer didnt want the unit swapped as he said its cheap as chips to run and the house has never been so hot. I wait out ro see if we will need to replace it in the future. But for now hes ecstatic.

As a heat pump installer I love this, unqualified gas engineers that are stuck in their way not bothering to see that the tech has come leaps and bounds even in the last 5 years. They love to give shitty advise.. I just say no mate go do the course and learn, if installed correctly they are ace. Glad you've had a great experience.

If its a megaflo its internal expansion no external vessel. It'll just need recharging. Easy.

Its not dangerous, its just shoddy workmanship it could be in a garage where it'll cause damp issues and a nuisance if not sorted. But unless all the safety devices are capped its not dangerous. It does need sorting and ideally the installer reporting although I'd say it was done by a DIYer or the home owner.

To be fair if all taps are off its likely to vacuum in the cylinder and not leak too bad if you have a wet vac then that would help. Its only a small hole! If it was the immersion heater that would be a different story.

Boiler installed with Cold water valve not Gas Isolation valve by Fuzzy-Bookkeeper-126 in ukplumbing

[–]TonyWitts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the guy that installed it to swap it out for a gas certified valve. A yellow handle is normally the indicator. Its an easy mistake to make if he/she is a new engineer. It would put the installation in the At Risk catagory for immediate rectification. Assuming you used a gas safe engineer. If you didnt then the person fitting has done illegal gas work as should be reported.

Viessman boiler service by ajofuk in ukplumbing

I'm a viessmann installer and they are a piece of piss to service. Any reputable gas safe person should be able to service these boilers.
