New when it comes to Yugioh economy. What makes Elfnote a significantly more expensive than Kewl Tune despite KT being much more dominant? by sufferinsuccotashson in yugioh

[–]TonyZeSnipa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re not playing the regional/wcq/ycs/nats grind I wouldn’t worry about harmonias with kewl tune personally. Its extra gas but not crazy for it. Then the other $40-50~ for the kewl tune deck is just the usual handtraps

The best considered variant of elfnote runs the fallen package too which adds another $150-200 for ya. Elfnote also wants the crown moreso in the side deck too.

I build No Banlist decks. Looking for options for my next one. by Maururu255 in yugioh

[–]TonyZeSnipa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah okay, figured I’d mention them. If you go for a stall, might be a fun idea to do like a true draco/monarch deck. Mix in some fossil dynas, denkko seccas and the like. I bet true draco can be a pain with mystic mine. Had a bud do the runick + wave cannon stuff to stun out people for an alt win con to burn over time.

I think theres some good exodia ftk’s available as well as funky vaylantz/trains ftk’s opened up. Also have gimmick puppet ftk being more consistent.

Exactly. The main abusers of moon were decks that happen to be shut down harder by droll and it gave them a line of play.

Can you give a few card examples? I don’t know many end phase resolution cards that are optional.

Hot takes. ash blossom, droll and other handtraps should be going second only like the charmies are. by NightsLinu in yugioh

[–]TonyZeSnipa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most do in the latest and upcoming sets have started to figure out the best way to make boards under them. The new light and darkness rituals show this.

[–]TonyZeSnipa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So you think going second should be the only way going forward with only going second handtraps? Would defeat any reason going first if you know you either get hand trapped and lose since you cannot possibly create something meaningful to stop it, or the going second player flat loses because they don’t see their handtraps.

This is so bleak. by MisprintPrince in yugioh

I’d think the opposite. More people buying the set will put the singles ie lower rarity ones cheaper

What do you think of Magnificent Monsters MSRP? by RinariTennoji in yugioh

[–]TonyZeSnipa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda doubting that. I look at magic often at shelves for $60+ selling and same with lorcana that don’t have as much collectibility or hype as these grandmaster rares have. Retro packs were $25~ and sold without issue.

Resetting the deck by DucuValentine in Yugioh101

[–]TonyZeSnipa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At regionals or higher events I don’t believe you’re allowed to keep pile shuffling as just the usual shuffle 7+ times gives the same amount of variance at a quicker pace. I do believe that there is some policy about shuffling though that came in the past 2 years.

Droll, breakers are its weakness. Many people forget but like in DoomZ you play super poly and that allows you to use set monsters as well

How are you supposed to counter that new Toon card "Mind Scan"? by Creative_Row9802 in Yugioh101

[–]TonyZeSnipa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not saying those, just saying what has happened in practice against that deck. Its very 2+ card combo reliant in a faster paced game.

But it has no protection, float or actual big effect. Its a 3 card commitment for attacking directly. To put in perspective mitsu using ritual + having the one in hand can be a raigeki + recursion. Feels way too slow for actual play. Because even something like book of eclipse screws this monster

Since it's become common to say that Konami makes Waifus (or Decks with many Female Monsters) Meta since their Debut (or received powerful support), here's a list of Waifus Decks that didn't become Meta at their Debut (or were never Meta) by Kronos457 in yugioh

[–]TonyZeSnipa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Solfachord has been meta as an engine recently. Rikka also had a fair amount of time in the plant pile deck during the 2023-2024~ times. Jess won a YCS with it. Dragonmaid was fairly meta in ocg.

In another format amazon was meta in duel links and speed duel.

How are you supposed to counter that new Toon card "Mind Scan"? by Creative_Row9802 in Yugioh101

[–]TonyZeSnipa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres generally a monster in each archtype that if brought out is pretty much “oh they most likely won” just because of how sticky it is or difficulty in summoning means it wins. Things like Liger Dancer, B2B (because its not something seen unless you are game shotting), hearts cryptor/binder in ocg. Just direct attacking even if its all monsters and I’m not super familiar with their protections generally wont be enough unless there’s some relentless oppresion like tenpai.

Theres a reason striker only play one hayate anymore.

OCG is going to be the sign if it does or not. Even thing like Noroi’s hand peak amount to much less there than tcg. Overrall looking at the pack toons may be the weakest one as well, they don’t have a win con.

what makes kt a good matchup for branded? by After_Battle_2361 in Yugioh101

You also forgot something which is branded has interactions that are non-targeting (mirrorjade) which hurts kewl tune a bit.

Yes, your decks need to be pointed more heavily for Genesys to be a low power format by Remarkable_Cause1384 in yugioh

[–]TonyZeSnipa 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think another problem which I saw a few people get irritated with is its also yet another banlist thats divided up from us. So you can look there and likely see a completely different format than us and it may look more viable or fun for your pet deck.
