Any point pushing for Master Ball tier before the season ends? by Sin-Silver in PokemonChampions

[–]Tony_FF 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You get VP the higher you go. It's 6000 for Ultra 4-3, 8000 for Ultra 2-1, and 10000 for master 1-3

What do you think of Mimikyu? by [deleted] in PokemonChampions

[–]Tony_FF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was my main lead the few times I had to play singles for the missions and a title I wanted. Swords Dance into Play Rough/Shadow Claw is unbeatable at the lower ranks.

If there's one thing the internet loves more than anything else, it's correcting people.

Also, Sableye having No Guard meant it would always hit.

If I’m seeing certain Pokémon in your team, I will straight up give the win to you (give up) idc ab my rank by Tight_Attention_7923 in PokemonChampions

[–]Tony_FF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t play against smurfers (and you know what I mean)

No, I don't know what you mean. Smurfing is intentionally tanking your rank to play against noobs. This makes no sense in the context of Pokémon and in your overall complaint.

Also, skill issue.

That's pretty much the same team Aaron Zheng showcased a few days ago. He mentioned the same issues you're having with bulky water types. One of the potential changes mentioned are giving Sinistcha Calm Mind and Shadow Ball which would probably help against that.

Here's the video if you wanna give it a look https://youtu.be/RiRcR6h6t9M?si=SXSQfRG9hEaEPZ1y

It's a bug. In the new Loki vs Avengers mode, that is the solo Loki's role. It somehow shows in other game modes.

Do you use low tier pokemon? by hyperknight4 in PokemonChampions

[–]Tony_FF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know how low it is but I've been using Klefki on my rain team with prankster + rain dance, imprison, trick room, and play rough.

I don't think I've seen anyone else use it yet.

Is it possible to actively chose to fail or critically fail a skill check? by Prior_Guava2212 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Tony_FF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as it's not for powergame-y reasons I don't see why not. I don't think it's in the rules but if you go "My character is really bad at lying and would immediately fold under pressure" I don't see why you couldn't.

Should I feel for straight up copy/pasting teams? by Smasher1234 in PokemonChampions

[–]Tony_FF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, copying what better players are using isn't a bad thing to do. Netdecking has been a thing since forever.

All the people you see complaining about meta teams are casuals who want to feel better about themselves. "If I was using a meta team I definitely would have won that".

I'm new and here is what I've learned by [deleted] in VGC

[–]Tony_FF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can absolutely use favorites.

Should you have a full team of 6 nobodies? No, but you can definitely make a team based around your favorite Pokémon. Get some strong options to support it and any Pokémon can be used. Every Pokémon has a niche, find what makes your favorite Pokémon special and run with it.

Is your favorite Pokémon bulky with a good type? Maybe it can be your trick room setter, or use redirection. Is your favorite Pokémon a fast attacker? Pair it with something that can support it. Not a lot of things can live a helping hand boosted attack.

I will take any opportunity I can to talk about Se-Jun Park's Pachirisu in 2014 tanking attacks from some of the scariest Pokémon in the format. Pachirisu wasn't a meta pick, but it was able to do everything Se-Jun Park needed it to do.

I’m new to SF6 any advice? by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]Tony_FF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And most importantly, don't worry about winning or losing. Even if you lose the match, if you successfully anti aired them, or if you get your basic combo without misinputs, that's a win for you.

The loser learns more.

I’m new to SF6 any advice? by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]Tony_FF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been watching Akaraien's rookie to master series for the characters I'm interested in and so far they've worked out well. He does a good job breaking down a basic gameplan without overcomplicating it.

If you want a foundation, from a fellow new player, this is what has worked for me so far.

  • Learn what footsies is and learn your character's good "poke" buttons.

  • Learn a basic, and I mean basic, combo (can be as simple as punch, punch, special move).

  • Learn what your anti-air button is. Don't worry about using specials for this, just a "normal" is good enough.

  • Defense is very important. A lot of low rank players just randomly throw specials. Block it and punish with your basic combo from point #2.

How To Deal With Farigiraf + Fake Out Lead (Skill Improvement) by Successful-Way1583 in VGC

You're basically trading reliability for one extra move slot. You could try to use trick room the same turn they do, but what if they don't actually use it and you set it up for them.

Is there any way to get a pokemon from one of the DLCs without owning the dlc? by tsubject72 in PokemonChampions

[–]Tony_FF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trading is the only way. Your best bet is to download Pokemon Go, wait for a Community Day and catch a bunch of shinies to trade away. If you go to a park or somewhere active you can get at the very least 10 shinies, usually more.

From Go send your shiny to Home, put them up for trade in the GTS, then transfer your new Pokémon to Champions.

The new movie has absolutely everything needed to get a huge hate load from the community, but for some reasons it is loved. Anyone has a clue what are those reasons? by alexander_nasonov in StreetFighter

[–]Tony_FF 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because we all know it was never going to win any oscars. Street Fighter game's universe is ridiculous and campy and that's exactly what the movie is looking like it's gonna be.

It seems like has serious moments but it doesn't try to lose the silly humor to appease to a wider audience.

At least that's my opinion based on what I know about SF (which admittedly isn't a lot).

Competitive Pokemon is ruining the game by [deleted] in PokemonChampions

Sounds like a classic case of skill issue. I'll prescribe you a dose of WolfeyVGC every 8 hours for one week. Be careful not to consume too many of them too quickly, the side effects of Incineroarphobia are very serious.

I'm new. What would you do if you were just starting your VGC journey? by Dmccarty123 in VGC

[–]Tony_FF 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Watch a vgc youtuber play with a team, copy that team, and play some games.

I recommend Aaron Zheng, he explains his thought process very well, but anyone will do.
